They could easily add a hay to Quartermaster chit option in the weapon vendor UI. Perhaps 20 hay for 1 heroic chit, 40 for an epic chit. Numbers chosen at random, I have no idea what would be truly appropriate amounts. But that would certainly give a use for hay in heroic.

I have 5 piece heroic, epic, and legendary sets, none of them have the armor in them.

As said above, I also wear nearly always the same cosmetic from level 1.

Again as said above, maybe it's a case to make the armors better instead of whatever you are worried about here?

I really have no use for the hay, but I still get masses of it. Instead of getting Chits, of course. That's the point. The Chits , which I *do* have use for, are so insanely rare, whereas the things I have *no* use for, are things I get masses of.

No use for it?? Just collect the lvl 3 stuff then upgrade it and sell it or better yet feed it to a sentient gem.

Didn't know BtA items can be sold too...feeding to gems? i suppose its 50 hay +lvl3 item = 20 Sxp, might be kinda sad to farm that since the lvl 30 items do drop in saltmarch wilderness chest as well as hay (but hay it might be worth doing)

When one gets tired of collecting it...

At least it's not like the old s/s/s days where one would spend years never seeing the last upgrade material needed to finish off an item. I'll take an abundance of mats that I can leave in chests or pass to others over not being able to craft upgrades in a reasonable time frame.

It is a bit like the Snowpeaks Bronze Coins : Lots of them, but not much use for them ...

Typical view of someone not playing low level.

I'd rather prefer to have the level 3 items for my low level characters (several of them), but the drop rate for the Chits are so bad ... In great contrast to the drop rate of the Hay ...

I wouldn't complain that much if the drop rate for the Chits was so much higher ... But it isn't.

"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

So the simple question is where would you have the hay drop?

If you had started a thread that was about chits and their poor drop rate you would have probably gained quite a bit of support. Instead you did your usual trick and tried to make it an anti epic platform which will gain minimal support at best.

Now here's a shocker for you. Everyone has played low level. Everyone has played heroics. Most players still play right through heroics on a regular basis. The majority of players though also play the whole game not just the small portion you CHOOSE to. Due to that SSG should always try and do whats best for the whole game and not just the small portion of it you deem worthy. If you have no use for something that's fine leave it in the chest or throw it away. If you think the drop rate of chits is too low then complain about the drop rate of chits. Complaining about hay though because you don't use it has nothing to do with the chit drop rate. Other players do use it. Some will still need it. Unless you can come up with a better solution than the one used to upgrade heroic to epic versions stop trying to ruin things for those that do want to use these items.

After about two weeks running Saltmarsh looking for equipment, I am up to 110 Quartermaster Chits.

As a Premium Account holder, I need to open everything Normal > Hard > Elite. As best I can tell, Quartermaster Chits and Saltmeadow Hay drop rates do NOT vary by difficulty. Heroic difficulty scaling in Saltmarsh is severe, making Normal and Hard much less intense than Elite. Therefore, I would recommend to any player seeking Quartermaster Chits, using a near at level character of modest abilities, run the heroic Saga at Normal or Hard every three days. High level characters can run the Heroic Saga on Elite at full steam in about 90 minutes, with practice.
