    Default War Soul - Falchion

Running through TRs, Paladin has always been my go to beater. The thing is Warsoul is my guilty pleasure, it's like Paladin light with a bit better overall utility, and great support of other melees as a Crusader. I prefer THF as a Warsoul, which means Warforged, Bladeforged, Wood Elf, or being stuck without using a favored weapon until 23 (unless you want to use a stick)...Wood Elf is my preferred here, Falchion has a bit of an advantage over Greatswords and you don't have to be a robot, not to mention Wood Elf has a pretty nice overall tree for combat bonuses.

This is of course aimed for my build, so it's a bit advanced, I have all the tomes and most of my TRs are done. It can be scaled down, but it works best with most of your racials done because of the expendiature needed to buy Falchion as a favored weapon. Simple breakdown:

Wood Elf: Falchion as favored weapon and combat bonuses.
    Warsoul: T5 and Capstone
VKF: +10% doublestrike and some prr/mrr and other abilities
Beacon: Healing amp, positive spellpower and prr/mrr

One advantage Warsoul has over Paladin is that it's one melee tree is quite concise in having everything they need. Warsoul has weapon threat range, crit multiplier, trance (multiple options), and haste boost all in one place, this leaves a lot of points to spend in other trees. Warsoul is super short on melee power vs Paladin, but it has more Doublestrike and plenty of points to buy more from VKF (actually bought Haste Boost from VKF instead of Warsoul because the need to spend more in VKF to get higher up the tree). This build is doublestrike heavy, 98% with my gearset, because I'm missing Insightful DS, otherwise having a straight 100% isn't too difficult here.

Strength is primary attribute here. The +2 in racial tree, +6 in Warsoul T5 Divine Power, not to mention Size bonus from gear and Filigrees being far more Str slanted. For these reasons Str primary plus Wisdom trance comes out ahead of straight Wisdom plus Wisdom trance. Wisdom is easier no doubt though, but for that build I'd probably do Aasimar and use greatswords (which I'm sure is a fantastic build as well).

Note: In this version I moved a point of Str from VKF to Wisdom in Beacon, it balanced out both final attribute numbers. The point is those 2 enhancement points can go back and forth, or even somewhere else entirely if needed. When kitties come out there'll be a 3rd enhancement point floating around as well...at least once those lives are out of the way.

That's really weird the WElves don't get falchion proficiency automatically.

Yeah, it's a bit of an oddity and definitely makes it one feat easier to play as a falchion Paladin rather than Warsoul, but thems the breaks.

Personally we shouldn't even have 'Wood Elves' as an Eberron race...
