    Default Reincarnation Name Bug

I just tried to reincarnate my character and when I hit the "Create" button it tells me my name is not allowed. Somehow several spaces have been put in front of my name (which I can understand is not valid) but I cannot delete the spaces. I cannot choose a new name because the spaces remain. I even bought a name change certificate off the DDO store, and that failed to work. I put in a ticket a week ago but have had no response yet and it is still bugged. Does it seriously take over a week to get things fixed? Anyone seen this bug? i have done almost 100 TRs and this has never happened.

ddo recently implemented a few new filters which affect some word strings that are permitted in name/chat.

    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/530716

apparently, there are some issues with names that have NIGHT or SOMETHING in them.

does your character first name or surname have NIGHT or SOMETHING in it?

as per that thread, steelstar said that they are working on a fix, but it has not been implemented yet.

you should try to get a refund for the name deed change that you bought.

((I wonder what other text strings are no longer permitted in character names ))

My surname is Nighthawk, so I bought a surname change certificate and... IT WORKED! Thanks for that info, now I can finish my last 20 past lives without further delay.

You should contact customer support and get your DDO points back. You should not have to pay to fix a problem created by a change SSG did to the game. You did nothing wrong.

Why is this still a problem? Seriously W. T. F. are SSG doing about this
if there is lag, I can still play.
If there are gameplay bugs then I can play.
If I can't complete the reincarnation of my character then I can't play. See the 4 step logical progression laid out below

    1. If I can't reincarnate my character, then I can't play that character.
    2. If I can't play my character then I can't play the game.
    3. If I can't play the game then I won't pay SSG for something I can't do.
    4. No money coming into SSG means the company is no longer viable and closes down.

If I'm not playing DDO then I am doing other things.
The more time I spend doing other things the more chance I will get involved in doing other things
People remember bad things way more than they remember good things.
I can't play my character is a bad thing.

    Default too long

This should have been fixed immediately. How many days has it been now? 15?

    Make a problem.
    Quickly discover problem.
    Not quickly fix your problem.

Why? SSG changed the "rules" and now some customers are confused and unable to play anymore. By not reverting this change right away, SSG shows that these few customers are not a priority.

Make/update chat filter to "protect" us from, uhhh, other of us.
Protection prevents gameplay for some of us.

So something meant to "help" has instead done harm, and we wait? And wait, and wait? For what?

When people have money in hand, but a head full of questions, you've already lost the game.

I suspect that customer support is the Achilles Heel of this game, it is dire to say the least and seems to be the embarrassing part of SSG that the devs don't talk about. My TR cache disappeared yesterday, I submitted a ticket and have zero faith in getting a resolution at all, never mind in the next few days. I have learned to manage my expectations with this game, it just means I'll stop spending.

I'm guessing the game development is seperate from customer service. Some more communication from SSG on this alarming problem would be much better than radio silence though. A queue notification system would probably help. Knowing it's 3 months is not worse than waiting 3 months without knowing. Knowing queue position and estimated date of resolution would be helpful.
