    Default Credit card payment problems

I am trying to buy DDO points and am having trouble. What are the required 5 digits on the payment screen to the right of the month and year? I can't figure it out.

Without looking, off the top of my head I'd say the verification number that's on the back of credit / debit cards. Mine's only 3 digits. On my card it's a little box just to the right of the signature block.

That's the 3 digit cvv code. This one is a 5 digit entry just to the right of the month/year on the payment screen. Zip code?

So this is interesting. It seems the 5 digit code is the zip code. I have a pre-paid card that I bought at CVS. I put $100 on it. I wanted to purchase 11000 ddo points which totals $99.99. Should be good, right? One penny left over. But when I process the payment I get a message stating there is insufficient funds on the card. So I called the card company, and they said the $100 may not be enough to cover hidden fees. So I went back to the ddo payment screen, and there's a little disclaimer that states "The total transaction amount may include an exchange rate so the transaction can be processed locally." What the heck? So SSG is based in Canada, right? So there's an exchange rate fee? Why isn't that included in the total price? I'm dumbfounded.

I'd like someone from SSG to explain this. How much am I actually paying?

With the $100 card that may not be enough to buy the $99.99 points due to taxes. Depending on where you live the amount you pay in online taxes differs.

No they're not: Standing Stone Games 117 Kendrick St, Ste 350, Needham, Massachusetts, 02494, United States.

Most states now require online purchases to include sales tax based on your location (which might be why the zip code question). I know when I picked up some LotRO expansions during this last sale my total amount included WA sales tax. If you're in a sales tax state than that $100 won't cover a $99.99 purchase.

I understand, but all other online purchases will include a screen that tells you how much tax or fees you are paying, so I find this to be unusual. Anyway, I'll see if I can load another $10 onto the card and hope that covers it. My intent of course was to load a card with the exact amount so I could simply discard the card when done with the transaction, but that won't be possible without knowing about hidden fees and taxes. I think this is a problem that SSG could easily fix.

    Thanks for the responses everyone.

    Angry take my money

I can't understand why you make it so difficult to buy points. Paypal is not working, a visa gift card I have is not working (SecureSpend). How do you expect people to get you money??

    Default Gift card

I have tried 2 different prepaid gift cards and still can't purchase anything. Tried to get points through in game store..nothing, tried to get feywild through market place...nothing. I agree how are we supposed to give them our money.

    Ideas?

In my experience practically every online game (including mobile games) is now charging tax for in game purchases. So I just assume it and make sure I have sufficient funds to cover it.
