No, some bulls**t potion won't make up for it.
This goes for the Warforged too, since they're replacing the Drow as the new 400 favor race.

Dont be silly. Your request is absurd and childish.
You bought acccess to the races. You still have access to the races. Thus you lost nothing.
Also, you have had access and used those races for a while most likely - you wont suddenly not have had that access.
Finally, would you have them refund the last 10 years of VIP payments to the VIP that "lost" when everyone got access to all packs and now most races? I hope you see just how absurd that idea is...
Getting exactly what you paid for and still having it is not a strong position for demanding a refund![]()

I agree the potions which you'll forget about is too little a compensation.
I don't need those potions but those are better than nothing.
Making more stuff for free is hopefully helping the game gain new players. So I am all for it.
But I know where you are coming from. You paid for something and now late comers don't need to. You are practically paying for early access; years of early access. Maybe that is a view you can get behind?
Cheers,
Titus.

I used to pay for long distance. Now everyone gets it included no extra charge. I want a refund on all the long-distance charges I've ever paid.
Over all, I think this is a good decision on their part as this may help bring more new players into the fold.
However, the compensation is a wee bit weak.
I was thinking if you had bought any of the races you would also get a Racial Heart or if you bought one of the classes a Heroic heart.
Just 1 each no matter how many you bought. That with the potions makes me feel ok.
After a little Tolkien I am usually up for anything.
Not replying to you in particular, just the sentiment. In my household there are 4 DDO accounts - hubby's, mine, son's, daughter's. Of those 4 accounts, hubby owned everything but drow, and wood elf. I owned everything but drow. Son did not own drow, wood elf, and monk. My daughter owned the least minus 4 races and monk. But even though we have individually purchased ALL these races and classes I do not feel the need to be compensated because someone else is getting them for free. None of us are loosing access to these races/classes. No one is loosing racial or class past lives they may have acquired since purchasing these races/classes. No one is loosing the fun they may have had while playing these races/classes before others get them. We loose nothing.
I got food from Chick-Fil-A last Saturday, and I saw someone that had been inline well before me give a homeless guy a little box of chicken and waffle fries. I didn't suddenly feel like I needed reimbursed for buying my food, I thought good-on-you kind stranger.
Yet we are getting compensated with these +bonus to named loot pots that you can't even buy in the store. You only get them from give-aways, weekly coupon codes and daily dice.
I think it was fairly generous of them to compensate us at all.

I actually see it as a "thank you for investing in our company", not a compensation.
I did however make sure our guild newbies knew about the upcoming change as soon as i found out about it though, in a 'don't buy it now' sort of a way, and I also think next time they announce a thing is going free that previously cost points, they should immediately ensure that in the store the relevant entry says clearly in big red letters: "going free to play [month/year]!"
well, what we all usually forget is, i'm not saying it is good or bad, but as a fact, we buy nothing, we own nothing, we "unlock content", we "unlock early access". it's also a fact that the game may shut down tomorrow and goodbye, so much for owning stuff.
that said, obviously a company should care about customers, but they don't have to give compensations. but i totally support the idea that if some players unlocked that content recently, they should be refunded. anyway it's a wider picture in my very humble opinion, also in lotro they are making more stuff free. like, imagine you had to pay or go vip (or farm points) to unlock your class core enhancements. and other stuff. so freaking sad, looking so bad. yep lotro was like that. now no more. probably, for both games, they are realizing, putting aside old sad filthy useless turbine cash grabs and punishing philosophy, that they are indeed useless, and it's better to lessen the entry cost...and don't look like filthy burglars, but say hello dear players with a clean face, welcome, and be welcoming. finally, took quite long huh. better late than never i guess. players are supposed to pay, sure, you pay a product you use, but they buy other things or go vip for other reasons\perks. in time, if they are hooked, if you did not block the road to let them hook themselves. compensations in lotro? none. no need to, after all. so we can't complain, really. like i always said, first hook the players, give em the grinder, don't make them pay for it, and then, later, when they are hooked, get the cash cause they want the grinder to move faster and longer.
btw, hearts instead of elixirs of discovery....well this is just an example from the post i quoted....in my case, i swim in tokens and seed so free hearts are totally useless to me. should i ever need more, i can farm em in no time. on the other hand, elixirs are quite valuable, or they will be soon anyway...
Marty, you are not thinking 4th dimensionally, that bridge will be there in 1985 and it will bring us straight to the isle of dread, where we will be farming gear in a new powercreep like it is sharn era again, we will be back to the future. those free elixirs of discovery will be quite valuable, they will save us a lot of rage, ransack timers and shard rerolls.

This is the equivalent of asking for a $55 refund on a game that you bought 5 years ago for $60, because it's now on sale for $5.
If you just bought something right before it was announced, you probably have an individual argument to be made, and I would recommend submitting a ticket.
I don't care that players are getting things for free and/or cheaper that I paid more for years ago. There should not be a $300 entry fee to be able to play the current content of this game... There's already tons of other things these players will be encouraged to spend their money on.
While I don't expect the points refunded - caveat emptor, and all - I do think the potions are lacking. If that's all we get, it won't ruin my day. But I won't feel like an appreciated customer, either.
But honestly, this is also pretty on-brand so I'm not surprised.
