Default Problems with DPI scaling / resolution cut off

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have encountered the most peculiar behaviour of DDO under Windows 10x64.

Normally I launch DDO from it's folder on the C: drive.

Since I got plenty of RAM, I decided to mount a RAM-drive under drive letter O:
I copied my DDO folder from the C: drive onto the O: drive. There is an issue: the DDO launchig from drive O: can't handle my Windows DPI setting and runs in a messed up resolution.

Just to be clear here: I hadn't downloaded DDO in ages, I just copied the already existing files to the new drive. It are 100% identical files, even the shortcut to launch the game has been copied (yes, I checked that no files were damaged or left out). The only change I made is manually change the drive letter in the shortcut itself.

All DPI settings in that shortcut and in every single file are 100% the same. They both load the same .ini-files from the users-folder. Nevertheless, DDO running from the C: drive applies my 150% DPI scaling first to the launcher and then the game itself runs in the correct resolution. The DDO Launcher on the O: drive can't handle the scaling and the game itself runs in a wrong resolution (it opens way too large, then decreases in size but appears to cut away part of the window).

A picture says more than a thousand words, so here is a screenshot:

Yes, these are the 2 DDO programs running side by side simultanuously with exactly the same settings!
On the left you see the O: installation, claiming to run in 1920x1080 (obviously not correct).
On the right you see the C: installation, running in 1920x1080.

PS: I want to play in a window, please don't go and tell me to run fullscreen or fullscreen windowed.

    * I've already tried a complete new download of DDO to my O: drive. It makes no difference.

    * I checked and unchecked each DPI-related checkbox in the properties of both the launcher and the 64bit version of the game executible. It seems to make no difference whatsoever whether I let scaling be handled by the system or application, or even uncheck that box alltogether.

    * The only thing that 100% works is disable the windows scaling on a system level, i.o.w. to set it back to 100% in the Windows 10 settings. That is an option I'm not willing to consider, I've grown kind of attached to my eyes.

When you launch from the Ram letter O drive, make a small change to the game settings, such as checking/unchecking DM Voice audio. Then check if the .ini files have been updated by looking at the file creation dates.

Maybe the O drive isn't really pulling the ini files, or the ini files (open them up and check) have settings related to the C drive?
