The other day, I went to start the game. The launcher started to download the patch from Wednesday, then crashed and gave me an error, saying it was missing a series of .dll files. I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it worked for one evening before giving me the same error tonight.
The only thing that has changed with my computer is that I recently updated to Windows 11.
Anyone more tech savvy than me have experience with or insight into this?

Is it possible that some antivirus is (re)moving the files?

I had high hopes for this suggestion because Windows 11 did some weird stuff to my antivirus but I got that sorted out, did a reinstall, and had the same thing happen.

Try to run the game as administrator. I doubt it really is connected to admin rights but just to exclude the possibility.
