Default Randall Lyric need the diamonds of skills

    Hi everyone;

I was wondering, with the preview that we have currently on Lamannia, we saw the arrival of Rendall Lyric to have the possibility to buy the new augments, and that, is really nice. But still I would have a request.

Would it be possible to add in this vendor list the diamond of each skill for each level please? Those currently cannot be bought in the DDO store or with any augments vendors in the game, which makes them really hard to get. I feel like your goal with that mister Lyric is to help the players get your news augments by making them more available. So if you could also add those diamonds of each skill, it would be really appreciated.

If the issue is that adding all thoses augments in the list would be to complicated or slow down the game, I would suggest that you think about doing like you did a couple years ago with the tome of skill: You put one diamond of skill, allowing the list to be cleaner and easier to load. When bought, the player would go in there inventory, double click the augment to makes a menu pop-up and it would be there that we select the diamond of which skill we want.

I'm I the only one that would love that addition to Rendall Lyric vendor inventory? Write your comments down below so the devs see that I'm not Thx for the support and the time you took to read all this ^^ Hope to see those diamonds appear in Rendall inventory

This would be great. Finding the skill augments has always been a huge pain.

As it sits with skill augments, for most practical purposes, they might as well not exist.

The odds of having a relevant skill aug at the appropriate level is vanishingly small, even after literally years of saving them.

They really should be purchaseable somewhere.

Yeah, for example for the commonly used social skills like bluff and diplomacy I don't have a single one that would be high enough to make a difference in legendary quests.

Neh I dont think augments should be purchaseable unless they're fundamental stats, things that really make or break your build

Skill augments dont fit that category...they're always "nice to have" but never "must-have", really. The major one I can think of is Spellcraft (or Heal or Perform, depending), but simply having a +20 stacking spellpower augment would simply turn into an auto-slot for every caster.

I'd recommend adding a few randomly selected, level-appropriate ones to Saga completion lists, like the skill tomes are. That way they're not completely deterministic, but they're created faster than they are simply by chest drops, and people could put them up on the AH if they rolled one they know is in demand.

I personally think customizable stat/and other buffs should be
    a crafting thing.
not a plug and play gem

    but that is me.

This would be fine if they were even close to the rarity of double colored augmented items. The problem is that I think I've seem more tomes drop out of chests than skill augments. You think a +20 to Spellcraft is an autoslot? Sure, maybe, but when I can put a +31 on rune arm, boots, helm, bracers, or a trinket, or +21 on a necklace or cloak (with an additional +7 from int) using Cannith Crafting, your argument falls more than a little hollow.

Additionally, *no* skill ever makes or breaks a build *except* trappers. Wherein Disable Device and Search are mandatory, and Spot and Open Locks are all but required. Dodge augments, Augment Summoning as a gem, Quick Draw as a gem, etc, are far more "build changing" than being able to buy a +5 or a +10 freaking augment from Randall or some other, new vendor JUST for the skills.

You want to know the only skill that has ever been a make/break skill, which is why the items that give it are horded like breath mints at a brothel? UMD. The ability to use magical items you don't normally have access to. And the value of that has gone down a lot since racial and alignment lockouts were phased out. Now the worst you have to deal with is a negative level for each alignment shift you're eating. Still useful, but no longer a tenth as restrictive as it used to be.

The fact that the 12+ are in the DDO store also invalidates the entire premise of this argument, since I suspect that the most common way of getting *most* augment gems is via shard purchases from their respective vendors, which are a DDO store exclusive currency. (SOMEONE has to buy them from the store, or an item that comes from the store, for them to be put in to circulation.) Honestly, the fact that the 4 and 8 aren't in the store is what makes this so frustrating. The skill augments are a CONVENIENCE and nothing more. I don't want to wear a Spare Hand *and* a search and spot item. I want one **** item that fills all of my trapping needs so I can call it done every four levels. I've been wanting that since way before Barovia.

I 100% agree. Those who have spent the time improving crafting and hunting for those dual-augment items should get some love. Especially since the damage augments are HIGHER than the CC versions of the same lv (starting at lv 8?!?!?).

    +1 - If I could
