    Default sound keeps restarting

    Hi all,

today all of a sudden after starting the client, the sound/music keeps restarting. The character movements become all jerky as well. Spent most of the day trying to find out what is happening. I tried:
    1. restart the client
    2. run in 64 bit, 32bit vista version even.
    3. re-installed from scratch with a fresh download.
    4. delete the ini file

non helped. I searched around the forums and tried that too...

i did find that the my device manager keeps refreshing as soon as ddo client starts, then the music seems to restart in time with the device manager refresh.
the device manager only refreshes with DDo, once the client is down then the refreshing stops.
really starting to look like something the client is doing...

    Any ideas?

Sounds like DDO is fighting with something else to control the speakers or the microphone. Is there anything else on your computer that is using sound? Music streaming? Something grabbing the mic? Recording software, youtube recording, etc?

    Default Solved it.. i htink

Well it is solved now. It appears that the problem was a problem with the keyboard driver (What really? yes really). I also saw that the left shift key was not working (what do you mean?) I mean that a shift and hold did not hold. I would hold left shift and then say hold H and the result is : Hhhhhhh. It wasn't caused by the physical keyboard because i moved the keyboard to another laptop (it is an external) and it worked fine there. I moved a different keyboard to the problem laptop and the problem was back.
So i reloaded windows from scratch/cloud. And Viola! the keyboard problem was gone and the sound restart problem was gone.

WHat is DDO doing with the keyboard driver? Trying to re-detect the keyboard or something?! <sigh>
