What do your characters do when you aren't playing them?
Trade stocks but i guess they aren't very good or bad at it since I always have the same things when I get back!
Mine just stand around. I think most of them just figure I'm stuck in another load-screen lock up.
They work as hirelings. then they abuse the money they earn. Sometimes, when I log in, they have mysterious item damage or toxicities in their system.

Proud Knight of the Silver Legion, Cannith: Saekee (main) and some others typically parked at some level to help guildies and other players
Lounge around the Saltmarsh Tavern getting drunk.
Sleep in the guild ship. Those not in a guild, are getting drunk at Salty Wench Tavern.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
"Of course it is. Are YOU going to question beholder's artistic sense?"
Sit around the airship and watch TV (whatever that is, I've never seen it on Eberron.)

Ever watch the movie Tron?
Ghallanda: Tervail (solo player)
Try to sort out their inventory.
they've been hanging out in taverns for months by now. they don't get much attention in the past year. sorry mates no time to play alot sadly
When not actively adventuring, my characters make use of all the guild ship's facilities from the training dummy to the house of traps, the spa and rez shrine (those traps are nasty!!!). At the of a long day preparing for the next quest, they will sit around in the bar, drinking and playing cards
Play their own MMORPG, where they're much better at than I am at DDO.

Apparently not a lot. Probably they sit around and play video games or watch movies or eat junk food.
I mean, they never have more XP or loot or platinum than when I last saw them.
