Default Pale Master gearset post U51

Playing around with some gear configurations for my Pale Master, and honestly I am at a little bit of a loss on what, if anything, to do here. My goal is decent negative damage, with a focus on holds for high reaper (enchantment focused).

Here is my gearset. Can anyone make any recommendations and/or changes to the setup to perhaps get a few more DC's to enchantment?

Magic is a curious thing; full of hope and promise one minute, then someone summons a t-rex jet fighter to kill you.

It's a pretty decent set - definitely on the right track as far as I can see.

One thing I didn't notice was Quality INT - you could replace your trinket with https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Legend...p_Promise_Onyx for extra INT and healing amp, but you lose some spell power. A Wizardry augment mostly makes up for the spell-point loss though.

The only other thing that stands out is filigrees. You don't mention what filigrees you have in the belt artifact. You probably want to aim for the two raid +2 INT filis there. The Eye/Grave and Zarigan/Voltaic. Put a Zarigan/Voltaic +2 in your weapon as well. Fill out the rest mostly as you've done, so you end up with 4 piece Eye, 4 piece Otto, and either a 4 piece Zarigan for +1 DC to 4 schools, or 4 piece Grave for +2 Necro DC.

May I suggest using the Nightmother's Scepter instead of the Prince's Scepter?

They're identical except the Nightmother's Scepter has an Orange slot instead of a Red slot. You can slot a Meridian Fragment in the Orange slot which will save you 6 spell points when you cast a maximized spell.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

You check it personally? After augs/slot revamp early tests revealed some problem with Meridian Fragment in new orange slots: -6 to cost Maximized spells not provided, only cumulative Psionic bonus to USP. Old slots provided both bonuses. Don't know if this bug fixed now or not.

Can recommend also change yours goggles and cloak to Legendary Magewright's Spectacles and Legendary Magewright's Cloak for better Enchancement DC and set bonus.

Also if you wanna maximize critical damage, you may wanna craft 4pc LGS Material/Opposition set for +14% HP bonuses and 29% universal critical spell damage. Add 5pc to full Ender set give 18% HP and 35% universal critical spell damage and nice set ability to kill mobs who have <5k HP with cheap GCS or Sonic Blast too.

I definitely missed the filigrees on the belt. So I can add an additional eye/grave and zar/vol raid augments there, adding +4 int, then another zarrigan there, and 2 more zarigan's on the weapon ( I wouldn't need the melody or one of the eye's). That would bump up my int by +4 and get me another +1 to my enchant and necro.. Sound like a win to me. Good catch on the Onyx as well. That should be a decently easy farm.

The cloak is definitely a win, not sure about the goggles at this point. I get the same DC's from the dreadkeeper set bonus, no?

Also, the Wiki says The Legendary Blackmail drops in Safety in Numbers.

Confirmed. Got one in Safety in Numbers, not Smash and Burn.

Except you free up your gloves for glory born +2 sacred.

Just checking what is the purpose of your build, nuking, dcs? What level content? Goggles from PN give you the best overall dc boost for general casting, but without knowing what you are trying to build for its hard to say.

Good questions. My main roll with this build is a CC wizard for high reaper for my guild (we have a night where we run content from r7-r10, depending on who is joining that night). Secondary roll is damage (ever hit Rudus in PN with a negative spell? Its some fun numbers for sure).

So the PN set gives me a +2 boost to DC, but a loss in negative spell power and crit chance.. may be worth it though.

If its CC as a wizard with necro blasting on the you should be able to hit pretty solid enchant numbers without every last piece of gear to hit the numbers unlike if you were trying to run full dc casting with fort based saves. Rudus in PN is a self correcting problem for tanks on reaper when the necro blasts him :-) though rudus is really the only mob in game that necro damage destroys. My son made a necro blaster for damage and even with the T5 in Magus and full raid gear it seemed a little short of where I thought it would be. Your current gear set seems passable for enchant based with some necro blasting. You might look at an elders set or squeezing in 2 more lgs for material bonus, ender set with 5 if you go op is probably not worth it as slots and even more importantly augment slots get a lot tighter.

Slarden has posted his go-to setup a number of times for maxing out DCs:

Magewright Set - Goggles (Quality INT crafted) + Cloak
Elder's Set - Helm + Gem of Many Facets (Spell Focus Mastery +5 on trinket)
Clouded Dreams - (Ins. Spell Focus Mastery +3) + Shattered Onyx (Ins. INT crafted)
Zarash'ak Ward - INT Artifact with +2 Quality DCs
Gloryborne Gloves - +2 Sacred DCs
Legendary Alchemical Offhand (shield or orb) - +2 Alch. INT

From what I'm seeing this setup is a net increase of +6 to your DCs over the set you posted initially.

That leaves Armor, Belt, Bracers, Boots, Main Hand slots left to fill in whatever you'd like.
Could get Winter Set for more HPs, Desert's Starless Nights set for Artifact negative spellpower (would need to get real lucky on a GoMF), another Autumn piece for Artifact USP, LGS...

I see what you mean. You are aiming to roll a Gem with both Elder's and Starless sets. That would be ideal, though you could also just use a 2-piece Starless set with armor and bracers and just need the Gem to fulfill the second Elder's requirement.
