    Actual monk question here.

For the stick build, why did you take discipline as the monk bonus feat at level 1? Seems like an odd choice as will saves are not really lacking, and concentration checks are minimal. Wouldn't something like diehard be more useful, especially in Hardcore?

Magic is a curious thing; full of hope and promise one minute, then someone summons a t-rex jet fighter to kill you.

Looking at these two builds I can't help but think you took toughness so many times because you had no other choices, which is kind of sad. You complain about not having enough stat points, but then get stuck with no feat choices on the other.

The initial premise is on the ridiculous side. Staff is not better than fist even on a first life unless you make a bad build, which you didn't in your post. While the possible triple proc on light the dark works well outside of reaper it starts to fail once you enter reaper. Mean while healing curse is just as effective in or out of reaper, and the incredible CC of a shintao build and better healing amp serves fist monks very well.

You massively overstate the power of swords to plowshares. Staves are not a good weapon choice. I still haven't seen any barbarians wielding staves even though people having been talking about how to abuse staves for a while now.

It's rather funny how in the preview part of the video you praise the monk staff core actives and then admit later in the build portion that you don't press any of them besides the circle.

Despite your comments for I assume marketing purposes, you did provide some important details - like the information about the triple hit on that one epic strike, and the ring for building ki - which were useful to me.

I agree that there were some better choices to be made for feats. I would take Power Attack and THF at level 1, then diehard at level 2, stunning blow at 3, then toughness at 6. I'd also be curious to play around with cleave in this build as well. Could be fun in the later levels when you have access to Lotus Blossom's mass stun (mass stun, then hit a couple cleaves to wipe everything out). That being said, its still a good foundation to work off of. I am going to try this with one of my alt's. I just need to find some good DPS staffs to use. I'm thinking the Nicked Staff, then the Ferrocrystal Staff, Barovian, the Moonbeam or the Syrannian.

This is one of the bigger forum fights and derails I've seen in some time. Anyone involved should be aware that continuing this kind of behavior will lead to your removal from the forums.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!
