    Default A simple plat-cap workaround.

For the purposes of this post I'll be calling my idea K-marks but its probably a good idea for someone who is either more familiar with Ebberon lore (or just better at making up names) to come up with a better one.

Introduce an npc (probably associated with either the coin lords or house K) who both buys and sells 1 K-mark banknotes for 1 million plat each, these can go into either a collectibles or ingredients bag (does not really matter which imho) and stack to 10,000 outside of bags. This NPC also exchanges different denominations of banknotes for one another, in increments of 1,5,10,50,100,500,etc... all of these notes are completely unbound and can be traded/auctioned freely.

Thus we can store any amount (or at least large amounts) of plat in a very small amount of space. Not only that but we will be able to exchange large amounts of plat with one another, and SSG can add vendors who sell things for very high amounts of plat simply by making the vendor trade K-marks for the items rather than handling plat directly.

This still does not circumvent the problem of a 32 bit integer. If you have enough of these new marks to buy something over the integer limit you would NOT be able to do so as it would still have to use the integer. So you still have the problem of something being in plat over the integer limit.

Yes there is a way around the cap in a way but you are still not going to be able to drop it back down to plat over the integer limit. IE you get 5 marks which is worth 5 mil plat and when you try to turn them back to plat at once you cannot as you would exceed the integer limit.

I believe the problem is that everything is based off of plat so SSG would have to change the system to work off of something else.

This function was added to The Lord of the Rings Online maybe 6 years ago and works quite well.

If the price is lower than the plat cap you can use plat the same way you do now no problem and "cash out" your notes 1M at a time as you use it. If the price is over the plat cap you can just use the marks to pay directly (assuming the vendor is set up properly for it) without converting back to plat, and there is no need to worry about exceeding anything.

They need to do something about plat cap, it's beyond ridiculous at this point.

They can start by removing copper and silver from the game entirely which should(?) free up space for a lot more plat since there is no conversion going on.

The problem is that there are three conversions already ( copper, gold, plat ) They are based on plat. Any other conversion they add in is ALSO based on plat. They need to redo their whole currency system first.

The obvious step up from plat is Astral Diamonds but they already have messed that up with Astral Shards so yeah

Yes wouldn't this increase plat cap by 100 if they remove just copper, and 10 000 if they remove both copper and silver ? And then bump up the maximum amount of bid/buyout on AH as well.

I dont really see the purpose of increasing the functional plat cap until they fix the plat economy so there's actually things worth spending plat on...

So much this ^. There's nothing much to spend it on outside of silly expensive respec costs when figuring out some builds; we need better "fun/desirable" plat dumps.
