last feat to choose FVS : master shield, heighlight, force or personality ?

I have this FVS AC based (tank)

i took two improvments of shield mastery feat, should i get the 3rd final or choose another feat like Heighlight spell or force of personality ?

i have 19 wis 35 cha

and this is the last possibility to get a feat.

what you suggest me to do ?

o Are you failing Will ST's and getting Held/Commanded/otherwise reamed? FoP

o Are your targets sometimes* ignoring your lower-level spells? Heighten

o If neither of the above, the 3rd Shield feat.

(* If they're ignore them all the time, then your build/gear/something is flawed, and Heighten won't change much, if anything. )

° it happened only once (so far) that i failed a Will check. ---> the decision that i should (maybe) need force of personality

° it never happens.. it happens the opposite: i am always good to instakill without having the need of Heighten
(but many ppl take it anyway so they forced me to think about it)


anyway the choice is made: shield

i can always fix everything later with LR.

Yeah, but what feat should he take was the question, why answer an unasked question without answering the one posed first. It's great to give advice but sometimes its not advice when its a smarmy unneeded response.

I read it before posting, at the point you decided to give your "advice" he hadn't quite yet. Even if he actually had at that point then my post still applies.

Sorry, my advice still stands. Flesh out a build BEFORE actually leveling in game. He had already played a build up to a point without a fully fleshed out build. Unless I am completely misreading he is up to his last feat and now looking for advice.


He already knows that he failed a will save and says instakill isn’t an issue. If he has insta kills he has played almost to 20 already

No worries, your "advice" is fine, but you shouldn't have wasted your time to make a response without offering any help for someone in that current position, you gave an answer that didn't really answer the question asked. Some people need to make a fully fleshed out build, some people don't. It sounds to me like he was just having a moment of indecision and wanted someone to help push him in a direction. Those kinds of things happen, even if you make a fully fleshed out build, you might get to a point where you realize that you missed something or perhaps just don't like the way your build is working. In that case you might come to a forum where you know the people there might have a decent idea of where to go and may be helpful enough to tell you.

Force of Personality: Adds your Charisma modifier to Will Saves instead of your Wisdom modifier.
Your Will save is a Saving Throw that details how well you are able to withstand mental effects. If you were targeted by a Hold Person or being charmed by a siren then you would roll a Will save against a specific DC or Difficulty Class to see if you are able to withstand the effect.
The Will save itself is primarily driven by how high your Wisdom Ability is.
Other saving throws are Fortitude save and Reflex save.
+12 will save or +4 if not taken


Perfect Shield Mastery: Level 22 +5 PRR using any shield type +1W, +20% Shield Armor Class

If your above statement is correct then trying to fix it at your next level up is not a good idea. You should plan to drag it to at least 20 ( or 30 if iconic ) and TR ( or lesser reincarnate ) and go with a fully planned out build. Doing otherwise is not really going to help any.

I agree that trying to fix it with the change of 1 feat just isn't going to work. But you had to know he was asking about the 2 feats and which should he take. But yeah, you wont fix a problem with just one feat most likely.
