You uncreative! Rogue must hide, inv, and infiltrate nuclear munition depot, set all nuclear bombs detonate with appropriate delay and after just teleport out to another existence plan.
These importunate bastards have to regret about that day when such strange idea came to their mind!
I just looked on my server and Jet isn't currently a fighter but a deep gnome monk. So I'm kinda unsure...
The jet I think. I cannot imagine how I would target it with my arrow, let alone fire it high enough.
Hmm, on one side you have a war machine of death that'll take down anything in its way.
The other is a mass-produced piece of hardware designed to be light and cheap as possible while maintaining functionality and would fall apart as soon as it hits anything.
I think I have my answer.
Just a random, forgettable NPC doing things an NPC does
Things that NPCs do include, but are not limited to:
Having a gold goblet over my head to indicate availability of a quest
Having a catchphrase that never really catches on
Having various rewards that are generally not worth the trouble
Wandering around randomly
Giving out obvious information if it wasn't obvious enough
Repeating the same lines over and over again
Repeating the same lines over and over again
Just put the dragons my character easily kills versus the jet and the fight gets to be more interesting
so any sneak peeks at u52 ????
Party wipe without jet ever coming into range.

I would like to say the "Modern Fighter Jet" wins, but without providing the specifications of the Jet and what equipment(s) that the jet has. Is it a modern F-35 Stealth Fighter with meteor air to ground missiles that can target you from 200+ miles away and that can coordinate w/ MQ9 reaper launch drones that killed the Iran nuclear scientist?
Posters that say your characters can win and teleport to the pilot seat, etc. did not consider that the fighter jet is actually 200+ miles away in the sky that you cannot target or teleport to.
Also, is the player challenging the "fighter jet" underground in a bunker? Is the fighter jet equipped with bunker busting missiles?
With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
It would be more of a stand off since the jet can't get into the underdark and I'm not about to stand around in the open on the surface where it can take an extreme range shot at me.
the modern fighter will loose. Because he trips over my little form and falls prone on the ground, leaving him defenseless against my little rogue
If I have my unlimited range Major Petrification Runestone and the pilot fails the save - I win. Otherwise it's the jet, the range is way too big to interact in any meaningful way.
I cast Thunderstroke at the jet, which fries everything, causing it to crash. Sorcerer's rule!
Sincerely, Zorrbeania
I win. I'm flying a magical airship!
With a maxed out Charisma, I could just charm the pants off the jet, ending the fighting before it begins
well, it will probably not be flying, just sitting there in a hanger, so...

Since the question specifies "fighter jet" as opposed to a multi-purpose craft useful/geared for anti-personnel or ground targeting, I'd say some of our better built Artificers and spell casters have a fair shot at incapacitating the craft. Better still, going back to the old school suggestion/guideline regarding cross-genre games that modern opponents would have no resistance to magic and thus get NO saving throws at all.
Then again, even just a fast-moving Chevy can do some pretty serious damage....
