Default Temple of Elemental Evil Part 2 Pyramid chest no longer drops Named loot?

I have opened the pyramid chest of TOEE2 18x in a row on EE and with zero drops. If the drop rate was said to be 33%, then the chance this is happening to me is 0.0007401955. Anyone farm this area lately?

21 times, 0 drops. Chance of this is 0.0002226234

As far as I know, this is a scam. Developers give you the option to use Shards and use money to reroll loot because players believe there is a chance for a named item. They change the loot table of the chest to no longer give named drops. I didn't spend shards but it is dubious. They should announce this. I do not think they included it in the release notes.

After 8 openings in a row, there will not be named loot until the chest resets. So, your math above is not 21 times, but 8 times. Also, pro-tip: Rerolling with shards on a chest that is ransacked, will NOT produce named loot either. It WILL produce some loot if the chest is completely empty, but only trash loot.

I know about ransack. I did 24 times on 3 characters.

What did drop? Mushrooms, etc? Maybe the game is treating ingredients as named items.

    You said 21? Also

The drop rate is higher in the rare encounter chests than the end chests Part One and Pyramid Chest. Drop rate in end chest Part Two is very high.

I don't know if we've ever gotten dev confirmation on ALL drop rates. When Ravenloft came out they definitely said drop rates were 33% on elite, and said packs/expansions that came out later had the same drop rates. But, like I said, I don't remember them ever saying that was how it's always been done.

True, there's always rng and luck, but my suspicion is that drop rates used to be all over the place, but when ravenloft was being developed and they wanted to show off all the brand new awesome (pre stat squish) gear, they bumped up/regulated the drop rates.

Would be nice to hear an official answer as to what drop rates are. The wiki has a quote from a dev but it's still a bit vague. Something along the lines of "we tried to keep them around there." or something.

Like someone mentioned, it really does change the value of astral shards for rerolling. And it actually seems like it could be a gigantic ripoff now that I think about it.

Mushrooms and the Elemental weapons. The elemental weapons make decent feeding for Sentient items. But No named loot. I've been trying to farm an Epic Quarterstaff (The one that paralyzes). I have done hundreds of runs in the past. It is my ritual to do at least 24 runs every life, ransack and reincarnate. I have accumulated a ton of epic named loot from the pyramid chest in the past.

21 during the time of posting. 24 total with 3 characters before ransack.

Some info I remembered might be important.

I used to farm in Epic Hard. Got maybe 20+ epic items in hundreds of runs.
I did these 24 runs in Epic Elite. If there was a problem with named drops, it could only be affecting Epic Elite.
