Favored Weapon and Proficiency

If I am not proficient with a Bastard Sword, but take Bastard sword as a Favored Weapon from Axiom of Faith in Divine Crusader, will I be granted proficiency because Bastard Sword is now a Favored Weapon, or, do I need to also take a proficiency feat?

Axiom of Faith does not grant proficiency. I've proposed adding favored weapon proficiency to DC, maybe in Just Cause since it doesn't have anything special in it already.
