Enervation is a de-levelling spell not a dot damage spell

Necrotic bolt, ray, etc.. didn't get a dot added and they are neg energy damage spells.

Then I came to the realization..
it wasn't for players.. mobs that cast enervation now tack on negative dot damage

    Default Yup.

Things that usually block the drain, don't do much VS the DoT. It's fun having a Cleric "protect you", then dropping dead
from a Champ-empowered DoT because a random Dev thought a spell that sucks your life out really needed damage, too.

Don't let the guy in the office that got a divorce, ran over his dog, and ironed a hole in his pants that day make decisions. M'kay?

The spell has not changed, except for the change?
By that logic, can I have a Piercing DoT on my Dagger? It won't change my Dagger. Really.

Edit, oh, so it breaks DW?

Hmmm, sucks to not have 4 different spell absorb swaps built into your gearing.

Death Ward is not stopping the the DoT, it's still bugged. Everyone had Death Ward, ZERO protection.
Additionally, added-damage from Champs on the DoT isn't stopped either, so it's a multiplicative stack.

Even with SA, it was basically "chain heal and try to keep ahead of a full stack of death termites".

They have to invent a whole new category of broken for how badly they borked that spell up.
