    Default Is Shriadi Sorc dead?

I have an electric shiradi sorc that I very much enjoyed playing, but after logging into U51, it seems not very doable. Am I mistake or is shiradi just a waste of time for sorcs now?

Shiradi seems really op for fire n ice builds to me atm but everythings still really buggy

I haven't looked at Fatesinger yet is there any synergy for a Light sonic sorc with the new Fatesinger that might be the best synergy

You have to decide what you want to accomplish with your Mantle. The sorcerer can accommodate several EDs now, including Shiradi.

Shiradi is very strong but it is higher skill floor and higher skill ceiling with minimal gear and pl dependence. Whereas, draconic is lower skill floor and lower skill ceiling but a higher gear and pl dependence.

Shiradi as a missile spammer in the way it used to play, is dead. You are much better off going a 18/2 or 20 type build, and staggering lots of different spell proc effects with more than .1 spell spacings. If you do this, it's possible to generate ~30k dps with minimal sp expenditure. The reason why shiradi is higher skill floor and higher skill ceiling is simply that you have to manage these staggerings, handle your rotation, and optimize between aoe and single target to maximize your dps. Whereas draconic, is pretty much always going to hit 20k dps even with brain dead gameplay, assuming you have the gear and pls. Optimal rotation can push the dps up to around 25k-30k depending on debuffs with high spell point expenditure and skill. Shiradi gets 30k dps without the spell expenditure, and can push up to 40-45k dps with high expenditure and high skill. You realistically can't sustain the high sp expenditure dps for most raids and other long fights. E.g. in project nemesis, you'd be much better off using a low sp rotation for lower dps but higher sustain.

Meanwhile primal and magus mantles suck.

Huh. That's exactly how I used to play - rotating spells in between the missiles, heavy aoe (I posted a build for it, but it'd be out of date now).

Thank you for the in depth explanation! I will definitely put this to the test.

Yeah the main difference is that procs for stay holy/frosty (the bulk of the damage) can only happen once per 0.1 seconds. So missile spam can be good filler, but spells like meteorswarm, acid well, etc. are better than mm. And the focus on having persistent dot effects / aoe generating additional procs in between spell casts is vital!

Whoa, dude, you were totally right! My damage output is very nice, dropping hosts of mobs all over the place. Still getting used to some of the new buttons - never have enough hot keys on a sorc! I use some 32, but maybe I should add a few.

I was only using the missiles to finish off guys who were left after the AOEs.

I'd say most attacks were around the 5k damage level, with crits up to 18k. But since you cycle through AOE spells, that drops trash pretty quickly. I use both 9th lvl damage spells (lightning + cold) and they were dropping red names in conjunction.

    Do you have a build/gear for a 18/2 or 20 sorc?
