Default Considering returning, um, just how many of these expansions should I pay for?

I last played I dunno when. I currently own the "Menace of the Underdark" and "Shadowfell Conspiracy" packages. I see that since then, several new packages have come out.

    If I re-engage, I will also re-VIP.

Assuming my play style is "grind towards completionist", are all of the new expansions worth getting, or are some of them skippable?

    Be aware of this: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6470001

Beyond that, you can buy Feywild w/ DDO points (assuming you don't want the bells and whistles that come w/ the bundle).

Ravenloft is currently on sale for only 99 DP, so definitely get that.

Current item builds are all centered around item sets. If you want the best gear, you will most probably want Feywild and/or Sharn loot.
If you are on a budget, you can come by with almost best to second-best options, with just Ravenloft and Soul Splitter (adventure pack) sets.
Lost Gatekeepers and Perils of the Planar Eyes packs have enough Minor Artifacts to get by without Sharn/Feywild ones.

Thank you folks for the feedback and pointers.

I'm not that worried about top-end equipment to start. I don't hallucinate about jumping into high-Reapers or raids. I actually need to spend some time in Korthos just remembering how to setup hotbars and button-mash. Not to mention remembering how all of the modifiers play together.

    (Re-)Start Here:

    o Build Repository*

    * A very few may be considered "obsolete" by current standards, but only in that there have been improvements which should not be missed. The majority are still perfectly serviceable, just not "as maximized as they might (now) be". In some cases, a tree or rule change may provide a considerable update and improvement (e.g. Sorcerers, Paladins) - once you find something you like, post it on the boards and see if the build gurus have any insight on obvious/necessary improvements.

The only one you really need to pay for right now is Saltmarsh. All others are accessible by ddo points. Not required for your needs as the heroic version ml is 5-7 and the legendary is 30+. However if you are a flower sniffer i would recommed getting it .I find quests there really nice to run but hard on heroics( get a group).
