Default Solo R10 Windmill. Perfect stealth. Speed run, no deaths, misadventure kills only.

So, I've been playing around with R10 "The Knight Who Cried Windmill" and finally got what I consider to be a perfect stealth run: no deaths, only misadventure kills, just under 4 minutes, and finished with no aggro. It's not a very big achievement compared to what most of you MFers can do, but I'm all about that stealth play... and this was a really fun one to pull off flawlessly. I didn't even need my Garret!

Nice one. Another stealth achievement to add to the tests?

nice! I have horsed around there too. I think at some point the quest can autocomplete if you are willing to go afk awhile—seems eventually that windmill
    lands on the gembeast.

I have done it invisible with mass invisi scrolls and using Shadowwalk for more speed and constant displacement

The reapers seem to spawn in locations one can avoid

brw while first life sorcs and casters are (literally) steamrolling reaper quests (heroic anyway) in mikkardo’s challenge here on the forums, and my multilife rogue melee can barely make it through after successive attempts, the devs will put this thread at the top of their list for rebalancing out of fear of how stealthplay ruins the game

It depends. In some cases, the windmill stays active, but in others it goes idle. I haven't quite figured out the whys and wherefores (though I suspect it's related to whether or not The Knight is still active and/or if there are any available alternate targets). In many of my other runs, if I die, the Windmill will return to the center and just sit idle (no stomps) until I raise and aggro it again. Though I did complete it once when I was dead and the Knight was still up and fighting. I haven't done any testing to see what happens if I stay alive, but hidden and out of range. Perhaps it could auto-complete, but that seems like an extremely slow and unrewarding prospect.

Yeah... I kinda wondered if I should even post it, since I believe I'm at least partially responsible for some quest farkery related to stealth in the olden days. Many many years ago, I did a Monastery of the Scorpion Elite Solo on a level 12 with 1 misadventure kill and posted it on the forums, and within a few months, we had 1) red barriers in the quest, 2) auto-sensing boss, 3) removed perch spots, 4) a level lockout to the quest area, and eventually 5) dungeon alert (though I think invis zergers were more responsible for that abomination than stealthers). Seemed like a bit of overkill for one little rogue doing something fun (that took hours and hours of practice).

I'd challenge (and have, as you well know) anyone who thinks that stealth play is somehow cheating, or the easy mode, etc., to prove it by doing any number of the tasks that you, I, and others have drafted up and show me that it's more efficient, faster, or simpler than just steamrolling with overpowering DPS or DCs.
