    Default Nerving Fire alchemist...why?

    Hi to all,

I generally liked a lot of the changes of U51 and hoped the devs would correct the unfair nerving of fire alchemist in the previews because of the changed legendary feats:

You see that only sorcerer get +DC for fire (evocation) spells but not alchemists (for conjuration)- that is greatly unfair in relation to the old destinies- devs, do you will change that in the future or you want only poison and Acid alchemists
it should be easy to put in mutiselectors for schools in the feats?

    Legendary Feats

    Scion of Earth:
+4 to the DCs of Conjuration and Transmutation spells, +2 to the DCs of other spells
    +20 Physical Resistance Rating
+10 Acid and Poison Spell Power, +30 Universal Spell Power, +25% Acid and Poison Spell Critical Damage, +10% all other spell critical damage
Add 2d20 Acid damage to weapon and unarmed attacks (Scales with Spell Power)

    Scion of Air
+4 to the DCs of Evocation spells, +2 to the DCs of other spells
+4% Dodge, +4 to Dodge Cap
+10 Electric Spell Power, +30 Universal Spell Power, +25% Electric Spell Critical Damage, +10% all other spell critical damage
Add 2d20 Electric damage to weapon and unarmed attacks (Scales with Spell Power)

    Scion of Fire
No longer grants +25% Spell Critical Damage with all spells
+4 to the DCs of Evocation spells, +2 to the DCs of other spells
+10 Physical Resistance Rating, +10 Magical Resistance Rating
+10 Fire Spell Power, +30 Universal Spell Power, +25% Fire Spell Critical Damage, +10% all other spell critical damage
Add 2d20 Fire damage to weapon and unarmed attacks (Scales with Spell Power)

    Thanks
    Tarinia

You're talking about a whopping 2 DC difference between sorc and alch. Honestly, that sounds fair. Alch gets more value out of the rest of that feat anyway since they have other spell types that benefit from the universal bonuses (positive, if nothing else)

Read the other thread regarding the DC nerv of the alchemist- its not clear why we should only play poison/earth alchemist and in all other cases have 2 DC less then all other casters using evocation instead of transmutation or conjuration- 2 DC are quiet important in min/maxing DCS after most attribute gains from items are halfed/epic destinies are gone/ direct DC gains from other sources are halfed or non non existence- means 2 difference is very much.

    Thanks

    Thumbs up

fire casters deserved the nerf they were leaps or steps ahead of every other element glad that ddo has more viable elemental casting flavors.

Its not a make-or-break difference. If you're having such trouble against Reflex mobs like the cats...then throw a Fort potion first.

No one is necessarily entitled to no-fail DCs against high-save mobs solo in R4. And no one is being entirely forced into Master of Earth

The lost of Conjuration Augmentation that gives a 15% chance to debuff targets with a -10 reflex save for 30 seconds cost me 10 DC. There are now trash mobs I can't kill because they have evasion. I killed them yesterday just fine, but today my fire Alchemist is mostly just smoke and mirrors when it comes to cats, most archer types, rangers, rogues, and most humiliating of all some kobolds.

OP try poison multivial (fort save no evasion) paired with Primal Avatar DoT stacking acid/poison strike (no save).

Ya, and lightning casters and warlock aura users lost more, since they also lost lightning augmentation. Heh.

Level 20 arti caster used to cast in Magistar for caster levels and twist in Draconic DC/Augmentation and lost a total of 6 DC from magistar tiers, 2 DC from stats, 2 DC from draconic twist, 6 DC from Magistar cores, and 20 DC in debuffs (lightning/evo/conj augmentation), gaining 1 back from new ED system. Net loss overnight of 35 DC.

Welcome to DDO. One day you can just wake up and be down 35 DC.

Or worse, be a monk/rogue and simply have your DC abilities removed.
