Default TW Dwarven Axe Tempest possible?

I was toying with DDO Builder but am too much of a noob to know if I am just setting this guy up for a disaster. The general idea is simply a Dwarven Tempest wielding two Dwarven Axes. Would that work?

Battle axes with Knights training is better. It's till sub-optimal but it'd be okay.

Well, the idea was obviously for Dwarves with Dwarven Axes, though admittedly there is a dearth of variety in decent DAs. Alternately, I thought maybe preparing for dual Oathblades down the road, with Knight's Training. Not sure about race or whether Tempest or Kensei would be best though.

Can't you take two handed feats to get melee power when wielding Dwarven axes dual wielding?
I would dump oversized and two weapon defense for THF and ITHF if so and possibly mobility as well to get the whole line.
This will allow more options as well like switching from a real two handed weapon for many mobs to two weapons when you just have a few.
Take away toughness and dodge now you can use power attack and cleave...
Could then invest into con more heavily and throw your weight around for con to damage.
A melee ranger only has to worry about devotion and all other equipment dedicated to melee combat...dodge accuracy deadly seeker and insightful of these are easy enough to slot in.
If you are going strength based you may as well go half orc and drop precision for Dwarven axe...or take knights training and battle axes. Or just switch off power attack and precision depending if you are ranging or in melee.
And change all those feats as I said above lol
You would have a true Man (Orc) at Arms build...

I made my oath blade sentient. Yeah it gives a nice crit range if you spec for it...problem is like most named weapons you can usually craft better damage dealers with two augment slots and three beneficial effects.

If you want a Dwarven Tempest wielding axes for flavor, then Battle Axes with Knight's Training feat are best for DPS.
Dwarven axes will have sub-optimal DPS while providing no other benefits. And flavor-wise, nobody will probably notice the difference between a battleaxe and a dwarven axe.

Once upon a time, perhaps; now, when fighting 2-handed you use 2H feats, and when fighting w/ 2 weapons only 2-weapon feats apply - pretty much that simple.

Dual Khopeshes are the best; anything else will still work, just not be "the best".

I have a St-based dwarf dual-dwaxe character (Ranger/Fighter/Wizard 1) that tears it up just fine.

It'll work, just not as well as it could/should.

"Toughness" is considered a sub-par feat - you can easily do better. And Oversized Two Weapon Fighting is completely unnecessary - if you have a decent "to hit" stat, you're good to go and will only miss on a natural "1", so, again, you can do better.

There are many builds for Tempests, pure and multi-class - pick one and go with it, can't go wrong.

    Here're just a few examples:

    o https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...t-ranger-build

    o & counter suggestion https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6145754

    o the classic https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ivine-crusader

o 2 Rangers for HC (so leaning more toward survivability, less pure DPS) https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6236501 (not "dwarf", but you can easily tweak to fit)

Could you please elaborate how exactly Khopeshes are better than Battle Axes or Longswords (or warhammers after they change Knight's Training feat in U51)?

You will definitely be missing not only on a natural "1" in end-game higher-difficulty content. To-hit bonuses become important there, though -2 penalty is still too small to be worth a feat.

OP, first of all - you want your weapons to scale off your main stat.
IF you want to go DEX, you are limited to Scimitars (via Tempest enhancements) or light weapons (Handaxes / Light Picks).
If you want heavy weapons (any other kind of axe), you have to go STR.

If you take dodge& mobility, might as well take Spring Attack for it's active ability
