Why is it named that? Doesn't last any longer than a regular key. One use and done. Just wondering.

They will last until next year if not used although the regular keys will likely last until next year as well.

They only last until next year? I thought they just last permanently, until used.

A regular key will expire right before next year's Night Revel event, just like all the ingredients (changes to something like a "Crumbling Nights Revel key" I think?).

Lasting keys will not expire until the 19th of January 2038, when DDO is taken offline due to not being able to tell time.

Just to put an official reply here as well, Lasting Night Revels Keys do not expire.

Cause they dont drop when you exit the quest.
