Gear, which is essential for a build to work, does not support hybrids and despite requests for devs to take these hybrids into account in their design (or generalist casters lol), SSG massively favors specialization.

So I'm sorry, but you're having a fantasy. DDO does not support hybrids well. They work ok on low difficulties, but still pale next to dedicated PCs. In high difficulties, they do not work and will not continue to work after the update. Many other things would have to be changed to make them work, and they are things that devs have repeatedly refused to change.

The best way to get semi-viable DCs and dps in a hybrid is through past lives and reaper points. A lot of investment time here (or an obscene amount of money). And even so, don't dream of performing well in high difficulties. The game forces you to choose. Hybrids are generally a trap. A veteran with many past lives can make it work if he knows very well what he is doing, and chooses his priorities (usually, it is usually dps mostly, with DCs in second place). A new player? A trap.
I also love how the metric again becomes this makes my character more R10 worthy with 2 EPLs and no completionist.

Devs, let me remind you that most of the PL grinders are the ones spending the most TP. I buy a lot of experience potions to help alleviate the grind. It would be far easier honestly to make a meta build without the past life’s to be honest and I could certainly save some coin re-upping my sub and TP for said exp pots. I’d be happier just making a metric ton of alts. This is kind of what I feel this new ED pass is going to spark. I certainly won’t be investing in PLs on anymore alts. My main is almost done with all his.

Now it will be a grind for power every single life
What is the point? Just make Epic Reincarnating available at level 30 and go back to 20. Keep EDs how they are although earn your twists with leveling. That would have been a better compromise.

I just don’t see how opening epic quests up to all epic levels helps the game. So the idea is to promote power leveling in epics? Why not do the same to heroics? Seems to me the goals of a revamp are counter-intuitive? Or at least some of the logic behind defending the changes.

Because THIS solution is quick and easy. They're big fans of simplifying things nowadays. It's like they fired all the designers and hired engineers.
