    Default Can't solo Epic Elite

So my family and I started playing this again and we have a group of level 9s. I have a level 30 from when I was playing back in 2015. I use my level 30 to farm gear for my level 9 so when we play as a family any named I get I can pass to my son or wife.

My 30 is a 20 Pal 10 Epic Bladeforged and was setup using the SteelShrine or something like that SWF and gear guide.

I realize he is not optimized for today's game so I decided to start farming gear for him. I can solo EH with no problem and no hirelings but when I try EE I just get rolled 10 seconds into the first fight.

I am contemplating following this build to change up my DPS. It is unbongwah U45 Sacred Knight For New Players.

For current gear I farmed a legendary Two Handed Ferro slotted with Deconstructor and a sent jewel. Currently putting divine stuff in it because I don't really know what I am doing.

To give you an example his HP are only 1100 and AC is 60 so I figure his gear is just so far out of date I need to replace it all. He has a +8 Supreme.

So I guess my question is it just a gear/build thing that does not allow me to solo EH? Not enough past lives? Or maybe I just suck as a player. I often read how people solo R6 all day long but I assume they have tons of past lives and all the goodies to get extra AP, Stats, Skills etc.

It is entirely possible I just don't know how to solo EE. Maybe there are some scrolls I am not using, that was not really a thing when I played last, or some type of CC I am failing to use. Any advice on build, gear, and how to play would be welcome.

I am planning on heading to the portable hole today and using the scroll benchmarks section of the wiki to pick up a bunch of scrolls.

    To solo EE u need:
    - cc--- u shoul be able to cc enemies with dire charge and stun
    - have some displacement clickies
    - have a good weapon and items (sharn set or feyeild set)
    - KNOW THE QUEST: PEOPLE RUNNING R6 KNOW EVERY ENEMIES SPAWNING AND THEIR WEAKNESS
    In game in Cannith as
Aborim Master (main toon) --- Nickallin (my tank)--- Jjnick (warlock 30) --- Nickpunick ()--- Nickruvido (my healer)--- Nickallinone (shuri build)
guild: not Flagged ( ex guardiani di eberron, ex gods, ex kvp)

Well as someone switching to melee from years of playing ranged

    - maximize your PRR as opposed to AC especially if THF
    - as above poster get avoidance - displacement, blur, dodge
    - take every AOE ability you can ( paladins get a few cleaves ) and spam spam spam
    - learn how to circle strafe
    - get quicken to apply to your reconstruct
    - take the enhancement for healing and get a good divine hireling

EE mobs have a lot of HP - I would also maximize melee power, strike through and crit profile to increase DPS.

Thanks for the advice. I did respec into that build and once I learned all the new attacks I can clear the trash mobs on EE but still struggle on the boss mob fights. Usually it is some type of stun that gets me. I have also gotten 3 Feywild pieces. I ransacked white plume on hard trying to get a Blackrazor so I still have the ferro great sword. The new spec defiantly helped. I never thought of circle strafing, I know how to do that from other games, so I will give that a try. I will give a heal guy a whirl see how it goes. I have to admit when I have the right damage type the purple damage is incredible. My PRR is only 97 right now so I will prioritize PRR. Thanks for all the advice so far.

now i am jaded and i stay in reaper at all most all time except for raids - so take this with a grain of salt.

i see elite as a training ground for reaper. if you can learn to excell in elite, you can start doing reaper.

so first off - know the quest - that way you arnt searching the ground for a lever, trying to heal yourself, trying to avoid that pit in the ground all at the same time.
second. and this may be first in importance - be able to heal yourself - if ur a pally u have ur lay on hands for emergencies and should have cure spells as well to go along with this - up your healing amp! most of this is named gear and past lives so it may not be feasible at the moment, but its a goal
also you are a bf, so you can get reconstruct in your racial tree - use it
third - you need something like dps. the quicker you kill mobs the less damage you take
fourth- get some form of cc. paladins can stun outsiders pretty well and dire charge is an awesome ablity, but gated higher as you have to have spheres unlocked.

now as to gear - i would cheat a little bit. if you have sharn/ravenloft i would run them on heroic and get the set bonus - so for you the quests to focus on would be house of pain, blown deadline, and no refunds. this would give you a boost in power then you can move on to borderlands and belt/ring of brutal force and maybe the cha ring from there as well. keep an eye out for people running sharn/rl chains - they do this for saga on elite/reaper so you can join in for better chances on gear
you also want to look out for repair amp as you are a bf. the umbral soul is decent for a starting point for this

    just some thoughts

    hope it helps

btw what server you be on?
might be able to help if you are on mine

We are on Argo and thanks for the advice. I have to take a hard look at my enhancements and healing as a bladeforged. I think I specced wrong in some things.
