    Default Eternal Wands

I was thinking about a new player I know that just bought Catacombs and how I loved the Eternal Wand of Cure Minor Wounds from that chain's end reward list. I have also never seen that wand drop in a chest in over a decade so now I have no idea how players are ever supposed to get that wand since you made the unfortunate decision to do away with named items in that chain's end reward list.

This got me to thinking that eternal wands of various types would be a nice quality of life addition to the DDO store. We already have the ability to buy wands of various curing strength and buy scrolls of almost every spell, so how about putting eternal wands in the DDO store to give us a paid way to avoid the hassle of constantly restocking wands and scrolls?

That Catacombs wand is a random drop now.

There are only very, very, very few chains left without that rework, and I pray that they'll remain this way (Waterworks, Sorrowdust Island, or how it is called, and Sharn Syndicate with its in general often unique rewards). These are the only ones I remember ... Maybe the Blood Tide chain as well ...

Yoou can still get one from the Mabar Event, I think, and one from the Risia Ice Games - if they still exist, that is, and that was also *extremely* difficult to get.

a Eternal augment for crafting wands ( the augment could be the number of daily recharges) and possibly like Trap making infuse an available scroll to create a source power...

So that’s where that thing came from. Saves a lot of plat eats a lot of time.

Catacombs should be free to suck new players in.

Much of the low-level content should be free at this point, or at least reduced in TP cost. Who's buying it? Not VIPs, not Premium.

Make it cheapy-cheap and let them use the favor earned to snap up packs below level ~5

Eternal Wands with strong healing spells are possible only if you make them exclusive so you can only possess one AND so they only recharge from shrining. Passively recharging on the run would be horrible and essentially allow endless healing which current POT/WAND mechanics don't allow.

An eternal wand of Bull's Strength would be great. I would pay 2-300 DDO points for it since gearing at low levels can be tough.

An eternal wand of Displacement (30-second duration) would be amazing. I and many others would pay 500 DDO points for something like that even for endgame use. Same for Eternal Wands of Invisibility and Blur (3-min).

An eternal wand of Remove Curse would be great for running Legendary Shroud. Probably wouldn't pay 500 points for that but people with tons of points to burn would.

An eternal wand of Remove Disease would be great for catching mummy rot before the curse part starts. I would definitely pay 500 points for that.

An eternal wand of Restoration would be useless because Items with Greater Restoration are already out there and are reusable. I would pay 100 points tops just to save an alt from the grind but that would be it. Death Ward is in a similar situation: too many items already give it.

SSG could make alot of money from this at the expense of further breaking the platinum economy. Just pick a handful of useful spells, make wands of them, and throw them all in the DDO store for a large number of points and people will buy them. Not everyone would, but more than enough to be worth the time it took to code it.

My eternal wand that got the most use out of all of them is the Cacophonic Verge.

The universal box breaker extraordinaire, as well as a way to hit monsters hiding on the other side of walls, decently working daze all of that gave me a massive reason to keep using it.

Wand Mastery means it can have comparable spell power compared to a caster of its level!

As for adding more, I'd rather see a staff/wand rework to give us a reason to use damage wands (make them scale off character stats!) before I see any new buff options added to the DDO Store.

The change from end-of-chain lists to RNG-chest-drops was a garbage change, imho.

Not much of an opinion if it's fact, Bro.
