Warlock for first time caster.

Now this is the first time to play caster and i picked warlock because i read it's more forgiving.

Now i want a build that is good from level 1 to level 30.

Looked at strimtom's build but he said that this for burning racial past lives.

In terms of gear i have nothing in terms of set items because i never played caster and never cared but i think i'll manage somehow.
So any ideas?

At heroic levels souleater/tainted scholar is by the strongest by far. ES is weaker but if you aren't comfortable with scroll healing it's another option.

At epic levels an ES blaster - probably tiefling/fiend is the best transition build for a new caster. As for gear you can start with cannith crafted gear if you don't have any set bonuses, but you should work towards sets - especially at level 30 as they add significant power.

Which sets/gear you for would depend on whether you mostly group or mostly solo and want more survivability. Generally you will want to use the flamecleansed fury set + 4 piece winter without raid gear. There are variations of this to raise dps or survivability more depending on what is most important to you.
