    Default Desert Sands Crystals?

So I am trying to turn some of the Sands gear epic and to do so you need 50 Desert Sands Crystals. I googled where to get these and the compendium link that I clicked said they drop in the end chests from pretty much any quest out there. Since reading that I have ran probably 6 of these on elite and have not gotten a single drop...Are these really just that rare or is the link I looked at old news and they don't drop in these any longer? If the second is true where do I get them from? Thanks in advance.

In order for them to drop you must run the quests on epic difficultly

Well, I felt foolish for not realizing this initially but now I have another dumb question....I am fairly new back to the game after almost 10 years away. So I am level 25 and have ran quite a few epic quests so far. That said, how exactly do I run the Sands quests on epic? The wilderness area does not give me an option to go in on epic and none of the quests give me the option to run epics out there. Only heroic/reaper....

only some of the quests can be run epic--Chamber of Rayium (Wiz king), Offering of Blood, and Chains of Flame. Then there is ADQ and Zawabi's revenge. The walkups cannot be run on epic.

Adding to what Saekee San wrote, the Epic Chest in the 5 Epic Sands quests always contains 10+1d10 Desert Sand Crystals. All (or almost all) other chests in those quests have perhaps a 50% chance of dropping approximately 2d10 additional Desert Sand Crystals.

This patterns holds true for all Quest Packs that drop Epic Crafting Materials. The Epic Chest is guaranteed to contain 10+1d10 ingredients and pretty much every other chest holds approximately 2d10 ingredients about 50% of the time.

Zawabi's Revenge also drops Sands Runes when run on Epic Difficulty. It costs something line 1,200 Sands Runes to Barter for a specific Raid item.
