    Default Suggestion for U51

    Take the best ideas from the existing plan for U51, keep those.
    - Pick any Epic Past life you want, no need for Karma, or running in off destinies
    - Add the new Epic Destinies, the pact dmg one sounds interesting for Warlocks

    Move the Level Gating Epic Destinies idea out to something like Update 75.

    Use all that time you saved in trying to fix all of the fallout from what would have been a massive disaster on continuing the work started with U50.
    - Update Eveningstar Commendation items
    - Update Eveningstar Challenge items

    Realize by Update 52 that you dodged a howitzer round in what would have happened with level gated epic destinies. Quietly delete all references of level gated epic destinies from DDO webpages. Celebrate by giving all of the loyal and returning customers a free quest pack.

    Profit!

    Epic is not meant to be level banded as much as heroic is, e.g.there's no over level restrictions or under level penalty

    I say let's get rid of the back-to-20 model entirely and just have you cash in 8M xp for an EPL and stay at 30. Maybe sell a separate 30->20 lesser heart for people that want the respec

    Epic Commoner levels are not that interesting. In heroics you get feats, class features and APs. I hear often how dull epic leveling is and how this change is bad because it will make the dull leveling slower. But that is putting the cart before the horse. The reason epic leveling is dull compared to heroic is because the levels means so little. Nothing changes and all you do is wait to hit 29 so you can do the exact same thing with higher numbers and higher rewards. No wonder it is dull.

    Level gating means that levels in epics are more meaningful. I can't see any downside to it.

    i think it will be fine if they drop the mantels and builder spender nonsense. they is by far the dumbest idea anyone could of came up with.

    just means people will be running a lot more slayers and being power lvl'ed by capped toons.

    Level gating EDs should have been done at the beginning. It should work similar to the heroic trees.

    Agree absolutely. Why make one system when you can waste time designing two that do similar things seems to have been the philosophy.

    U51 isn't out yet. I'm sure I'll be able to find some when it is..

    People already under the current system seems to be able to find stuff in several destiny trees (sometimes even more than three!) to twist in, so I'm sure I'll be able to find some useful stuff. maybe you don't use twists?

    Yes under the current system you can twist up to 5 different trees picking the ability you want.

    Under the new system you are going to have 3 trees and have to buy your way to any of the abilities in the other trees that you want.

    If the destinies that you choose are not in the same sphere then they are not going to synergize well. mantle and builder/spenders not being compatible cross spheres.

    the main thing I am getting at is epics are going to be harder. level 20 -30 is going to be a bigger slog that it is now. For me it means maybe dropping a few skulls when leveling but for others who don't have many EPL it is going to be harder

    nah don't see it it makes money exp pots and slayer pots. this nerf would

    Level 20-30 is faster than 1-20, the only reason it's a "slog" is because there is almost no meaningful character progression.

    Iirc the devs agreed to remove mantles/builders/spenders because I don't think a single person had any even remotely positive feedback for it. Hopefully that's not wishful remembering lol.

    You can only twist from 5 different trees if you have enough fate points, and you seemed skeptical i could even find three tree i'd want to use, never mind 6!

    Is levelling 20-30 a slog? I suppose the lack of progression in the current system is rather boring.
