Default DDO will not launch unless I have my second monitor plugged in.

This is extremely annoying because I play on my laptop. Ever since I've plugged in my second monitor to my computer via HDMI cable. DDO will not open on my laptop monitor or even launch unless I have my second monitor plugged in. However with DDO running on my second monitor I can alt+enter the game making it a window drag the window over to my laptop monitor. After doing this I am free to unplug my HDMI cable and play ddo without the second monitor connected. Extremely annoying I just don't know how to fix it please help.

strange. is the game not launching at all, or is it launching on the second monitor (which is disconnected)?
here are some random steps that look like they might be similar to your issue: https://appuals.com/windows-opening-...-main-monitor/

My problem was the game would only launch if and only if my second monitor was plugged in, and it would open the ddo window on the second monitor instead of my main laptop monitor.
I found a solution, this is what I did.
    1. Launch DDOclient
    2. Click the white triangle pointing downwards inside the orange box.
    3. Select "Options... "
    4. Click on the 'Repair' tab at the top of the window.
    5. Click 'Reset the game display settings'
    6. Launch game
    7. Click yes to the window that pops up.

Thank you for helping me out luckily I was able to figure it out.

This fix I found does allow me to operate ddo but now I have an even stranger problem. So on my second monitor I had Directx11 support and could play the game normally. After doing this fix I found it forces me to use Directx9 and gives me an error code and force closes the game when I try to do anything in fullscreen mode such as changing the resolution. However the game seems to be running 'smoothly' in Fullscreen Windowed mode. This is bothering me because I notice a performance drop and I lose out on the directx11 stuff. How do I fix this?

I figured it out! My game is 100% working the way that I want it too and it turns out it was a really simple fix that I over complicated the problem. The solution that works is as follows, and this problem/fix will only be needed if you are like me and have a laptop with a Nvidia graphics card, and Intel Intergrated Graphic. In my case I have both a 'Intel UMD Graphics' (Not sure what model, or if models for Intel GPUs are a thing) GPU and a 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650' GPU.
So this is what I did.

    1. Right click on desktop
    2. Open 'Nvidia Control Panel'
    3. Select 'Manage 3D Settings'
    4. In the drop down bar under 'Preferred graphics processor' switch from 'Auto-Select' to 'High-performance NVIDIA processor'
    5. Click 'Apply' at the bottom of the NVIDIA Control Panel

Enjoy! Hopefully this thread solves someone else's issues.
