Gem of many facets confusion

I made an epic gem of many facets. When i made that i open and closed the barter window until i had the right item. I then made it epic. But i am pretty sure i did not get what was in the barter shop. I did however get the one i wanted the most and i think i was just lucky.

Now i am thinking about making the item legendary and my question is: Is there a chance the set bonuses will change again?

And does what is shown in the barter shop have any influence on what i get?

What you see has no bearing on what you get. It'll be randomized and not based off the trade window.

Yeah won’t be chasing them bait and switch randomly items

Unless there is absolutely nothing else that I could use from threads and it was time to waste them

I’ve rolled twice on the Dryad trinket not a bad combo both times but not what I want there thou I have everything else I need already out of that raid so using the random roll is whatever still not chasing it

Description on the Epic version answers this first question:

Note that upgrading this item to a higher level version through Epic or Legendary Crafting will destroy what has been Cannith Crafted on it, and will also re-roll available set bonuses.

As for your 2nd question, barter window preview will indeed not influence what combination you get - it's random when you generate the item.

I made an epic GoMF too and I thought it was broken until I read the description. What I got didn't complete any set I caurrently wanted to use.
It could have been a nice item but it's junk to me.

I haven't tested it, but the wiki states you can re-roll which set bonus it has for free.

ALSO it supposedly allows for Cannith Crafting on it, which actually makes that a pretty awesome item if you want any of those set bonuses.

Re-rolling the sets on the Epic gem is free at the Legacy Altar. Took about 20 minutes to get the set combo I wanted.

And you can cannith craft on them. Many people have confirmed this, not to mention it's stated in the item's description.
