Nebula Fragment, Over 4000 chests looted and countering! FOUR THOUSAND

Even if they wanted this rare as hell, why not make the end piece the hard to get one so we could at least join in on the fun?

I am completely baffled as to why it's the first piece they made so rare, this way you can't even start the event.

I am also baffled as to why there is no comment from DDO at all. I have been playing since day one and have paid for the game and all expansions as well as paid for a ton of extras without complaint (I actually like to pay for the things I use as I understand there are expenses to keep the game up), I don't post a lot as the trolls on here are running muks all over the place.

I have posted several times about this, as have many others, can the people that made these decisions at least respond?

I have spent 8+ hours a day, 7 days a week trying to get this item, can you take 3 minutes to respond? Even a "screw off" would be better than being ignored

Dude, see this for what it is. Hours of play time, money spent on chest rerolls for what? 6 months a year down the track or an odd patch and the **** will be useless. Don't play their game, farm reaper xp something that will stick with you. Or go play a decent game! Step back and see the bigger picture !!!

But I like that part of the game and I don't mind farming, this just seems extreme. All games have farming as part of the game play. And I do work on reaper points while farming, they are not exclusive to one another.

I have 9 toons I have been keeping on ransack for weeks now trying to get this thing. Thousands of shards in rerolls and OVER 4000 chests looted with no Nebula Fragment.

This is a STUPID way to run an event, I can't even start to play it without this item so basically I am locked out of the event for weeks now due to pure chance and NO OTHER WAY TO GET IT!

Charge me 100 Star Fragment for it and I will pay as I have those coming out of my ears, Hay? Sure, charge me 10,000 hays, I have those, How about saga turn ins? I have completed those several times on several characters.

Anything EXCEPT random F****** chance!

Weeks now and no response from devs at all.

Screw this, I put in the time and if you guys can't even respond then I am out. I am not going to play a game that refuses to allow me access to content no matter how much effort I put in.

I haven't played in awhile, last thing I did in game was buy the Feywild expansion from the points store, but never even played it once. I started getting that itch and was thinking about coming back for awhile, but then your post saved me.

I don't have the first clue what a Nebula Fragment is, but I absolutely understand the unfathomably low, and infuriatingly grindy drop rates in DDO. Just vicariously reliving the pain through your post was enough to put me off DDO for another 6 months at least.

Which "Perfected" are you going for?

None, I just want to do the event and get the filled frame for the same reason I do raids, it's not for the items, it's for the challenge. I have everything I need from all the raids and tens of thousands of raid runes, but I still like to push difficulty in raids and quests just for the challenge. I am ticked I can't even try and do this.

I can honestly say I have done everything in the games, all quests, all raids, HC, Reaper etc etc etc. The only thing I haven't done is get this frame because I can't get the entry ticket no matter how much effort I invest in it.

I can no longer say I have done everything there is to do in game, not for lack of trying but because someone decided that access to the one of the best ideas in years should be restricted to a random .01% of the population.

The following list doesn't include the hundreds of thousands of runes I have spent on stuff for my toons.

Time to repeat for the benefit of SSG: If you want something harder to get don't drop the droprate, increase the turn-in requirements. Nebula would have been just as hard to capitalize on if you had made the drop rate 10x what it is but required 10 of them for the turn in. But people would have felt progress being at 4 (of 10) nebulas vs 0 of 1 like you have now.

There are plenty of people who will do months-long grinds (or even years), when they are clearly making progress. For this, it's not even a grind, because there's no progress. There's just 4000 losing lottery tickets. All the time the OP spent wasn't a grind, it was a pure waste, because he is no closer than he was before he started.

Ouch......... lol i hear ya. but its going to be fixed sometime in the future. probably by throwing an insane amount of fate threads at it. (not that you be short of it or even as a new raid drop item)

the neb frag shouldn't be made from threads of fate. it should be made from star fragments. you don't grind raids to get the neb. you grind Salt. Salt gives star, which should be the material that makes nebula.

4k chests is bad. I already knew this thing was a bad idea though. Sorry for your frustration OP. It should be SSG apologizing though. If I can't see progress, I just won't engage. If I get neb eventually then ok. I'm not actively seeking it because I cannot see progress toward it. To me, it's a total waste of time, obviously moreso than playing a video game in general.

I feel for OP, this is clearly causing him distress, but personally I'm fine with "chase items" that I never actually get. It adds to the mystique of the game to have some "wow you have one of those!" items. It also rarely ends up being as bad as all that. Remember all the posts about how no one would ever get reaper wings? Now like half the people in a pug raid have them.

This is nothing like that. You could estimate how long it would take you. You could see your progress with every single Reaper quest you ran. (And they've made RXP easier to accumulate more than once since Reaper originally came out. E.g., doubling Legendary RXP, or allowing people to run over-level instead of at-level and still get full RXP for it.)

I don’t have any issue with that, but no doubt if they came out with a 50-100 turn in initially people would be throwing a fit about that also. I can see the posts now “so I have to run the chain 20 times for ONE item!!!1!! ”

What is the right way to make a super rare item? No matter what there’s going to be someone who doesn’t get it with the effort they think is proper and be mad.

I feel for you OG poster but I don't understand - this nebula fragment is eventually converted into a lvl 30 piece of perfected gear - but looking at that perfected gear I am extremely underwhelmed - think about all the time you invested for an item that will not really make your build or you better -

But even if you found one today these perfected artifacts are no where near good enough to warrant any extra effort -

Lynn will be adding more items to be perfected - the current list is not final. Turning any item into an minor artifact + extra filigree slot is not something to be scoffed at, especially if you are doing high reaper raids.

I am not bothered about this nebula because I only play LH raids with occasional R1-R4 raids, but I can see why so many whales have spent 1000s of shards to get this. At least our server costs for the next couple of years have been taken care of so the game is not going down

I just heard someone in a recent group refer to it as the same - a pile of losing lottery tickets, while someone from out of state drives in, fills up their gas, buys one ticket, hits the jackpot.

It seems to me, that when feytwisted chest started popping up they were fairly rare, now seems like one or two are being posted with r10 loot chance a day, so not rare at all...I dunno, maybe they get data in on max farming (like this posting), then refactor the drop rate...seems reasonable.

On my main i found one on my 2nd Saltmarch run.
2nd toon i found one on the 1st.
3rd toon i found one on the 4th.

Not so rare it seems. Just play the game without expectations.
