Nebula Fragment, Over 4000 chests looted and countering! FOUR THOUSAND

I feel for you OG poster but I don't understand - this nebula fragment is eventually converted into a lvl 30 piece of perfected gear - but looking at that perfected gear I am extremely underwhelmed - think about all the time you invested for an item that will not really make your build or you better - I understand the goal sometimes is just to climb the mountain because its there - but this saltmarsh loot/hay/upgrade system is awful. And that lvl 30 piece of perfect junk will be outmoded as soon as they level increase us to 35 or 40 or whatever and there's new junk gear to get - its the MMO hamster wheel, that you upgrade and farm and burn your precious time and then they change the game and you have to do it all again because what was good is now ****.

The most frustrating part of this particular nebula item too is that you cannot start this quest without the nebula fragment - as opposed to the Feywild where you just need to find the feytwisted chests which though rare, pop up now and again.

But even if you found one today these perfected artifacts are no where near good enough to warrant any extra effort -

Still - I feel for you 4000 chests is a lot of farming. Lame that you did not find one.

My issue is that I have a significant investment in this game and that is because I want to be involved in all aspects of the game, being locked out of this event entirely, no matter how much effort I put in, is the straw breaking this camel's back

Even if the piece of gear itself isn't all that great, the extra Filigree slot opens up a lot of new set options.

It's a really low drop rate and I figure it's like jibbers low or close to its drop rate, where one will eventually get one but trying to actively farm for it is a path to madness.

I have Jibbers on several toons and those didn't take 4000 chests to find. Hundreds of chest per but not over 4000 without getting one.

Over 3000 of the chests I looted were not rerolled. Wouldn't it be fun if they created an event we could all join?

Loot/hay/upgrade is still a lot better then the S/S/S system that was in place before.
This final upgrade for which an item is needed with such low drop rates is infuriating stupid.
It's an insult to the customers.

Btw, its not a good a puzzle as knowing what to do when you have some dull dagger out of a raid.
That is a nice puzzle to find out.

But even that is only something you can do once you have that dagger.

I have 9 toons I have been keeping on ransack for weeks now trying to get this thing. Thousands of shards in rerolls and OVER 4000 chests looted with no Nebula Fragment.

This is a STUPID way to run an event, I can't even start to play it without this item so basically I am locked out of the event for weeks now due to pure chance and NO OTHER WAY TO GET IT!

Charge me 100 Star Fragment for it and I will pay as I have those coming out of my ears, Hay? Sure, charge me 10,000 hays, I have those, How about saga turn ins? I have completed those several times on several characters.

Call it what ever you want, it is content that I can't access, I did my due diligence, I farmed the chests, I did all the quests on R10 multiple times, I used the loot potions and rerolled. I don't think you have any clue what it takes to loot over 4000 chests. Once you hit 10,000 hays, get back to me on how it is just a rare blah blah blah

2.5k hay (have spent some so it was probably a bit higher but only between 1/4 to 1/3 of what you've done - I haven't counted chests so no clue the actual number of that). Yeah, that's a lot of chests you've gone thru there and that's soul crushing brutal with what RNG is doing to ya.

I'd gladly trade my Nebula Fragment for a Jibbers any day. A far more useful item than a 4 piece artifact that doesn't fit into my gear set.

The Nebula fragment for me will become useful when Charune, Grand Burden of Fury becomes perfectible.

I really like the chase items like jibbers, reaper ability bonus on helms, nebula fragment but I don't fret about getting those although over time I always do without grinding for it.

Good luck with your hunt, but don't let it suck the fun out of the game.

How many sword of shadow shards did your have that were NOT passed to you in chest. Looking at your join date I would presume loads according to what you are saying

I had a total of 2 shards that I looted and did not pass, I did pass any I did not need but can't remember how many, not a lot. BUT I have not looted over 4000 red dragon chests in all the years I have played, not even close.

Dude, see this for what it is. Hours of play time, money spent on chest rerolls for what? 6 months a year down the track or an odd patch and the **** will be useless. Don't play their game, farm reaper xp something that will stick with you. Or go play a decent game! Step back and see the bigger picture !!!

Join date is only the date when you first made an account to post on the forums, not how long you've been playing.

The whole communal treasure hunt idea was fantastic. It's such a pity it has been ruined for the OP, and no doubt so many more by effective exclusion.

The merits of the gear or otherwise don't really matter. It seems perverse that if future perfect items gated behind this are well made and desirable, that will actually increase the amount of frustration! Hopefully the Devs will do something about the drop rate. Even adding it as a saga reward would be helpful.

As it stands it's a massive own-goal. As a Premium player excluded from the first HC, I now choose not to participate in any HC at all. Mutual FU. I sympathise with the OP. Such a pity.

That would make sense as we play the game for fun. I farmed a lot for the nebula frag and didn't get one too. It went from exciting to frustrating, which doesn't make sense.
