how do i know if a toon has the heroic xp tome active ?

I have many toons and some of them has the tome of heroic learning and some not.
some of them has also the epic tome of learning and some not.

But i can't remember every time everything about my toons.

so, once the toon is in epic levels, how can i know if he has the heroic tome of learning ?

Look at your character sheet. There will be a book icon on there for characters with a learning tome. Next to the xp bar if I remember right.

Also easy way to check if your epic and want to know if you have a heroic tome is go to the DDO store. Ineligible purchases will display there or not appear at all if you already have the item on the toon in question.

This only shows the currently active tome so won't work if you want to know if a currently heroic toon has an epic tome or vice versa.

The ddo store will happily show/sell me epic lesser, greater, and upgrade tomes for my main character despite already having a greater tome.
It's "not showing stuff you already have" logic is very inconsistent sometimes. See also being able to buy monster manual volume 1 despite having it for free from being premium and being able to buy racial and universal Ap tomes even though I have them as well. (I can buy stat tomes I already own as well but they at least have a warning on them.)


Basically it comes down to, you really can't know for certain until you are in the appropriate level range for the tome to be active.
