Default Game either auto closes or goes not responding immediately after server sel (Solved)

Been a few months since I last played. I've updated everything, reinstalled the game after a complete uninstall... Multiple times. Run it as an administrator, in compatibility mode, pretty much everything I could think of or scrounge up online. I even tried running it through steam instead of the standalone client for a bit.

Either the game just straight up crashes without the window even popping up, or I get a permanently not responding black screen (oftentimes when I use the restore default settings option, although now that I've clean installed this appears to be happening regularly now.)

My hardware is not even remotely close to being underpowered for this, and the game worked on this same computer with the same hardware like 6 months ago. Windows 10.

    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Installed Ram: 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 (Max Q, ergo, laptop, model. It has 8 GB of G RAM)

Honestly pretty much at my wits end at this point, anyone have any ideas?

Try manual adjusting the userpreference file under mydocuments folder (be sure to back it up first). Sometimes setting "ScreenMode=FullScreenWindowed" helps.

Also are running on laptop with trackpad or a desktop using a trackball? Another user mentioned DDO can be weird and crash out if doesn't detect a real mouse, so under those conditions, plugging in a usb mouse can help.

u50 changed the default client to use the 64-bit version, so could also trying under the launcher settings to swap it back to the 32-bit client and see it that helps (drop down arrow in the launcher>options)

There's also various other fixes/ideas that are out there in other recent threads that you could probably search for.

32 bit client worked for. Some reason, thanks it's appreciated. Of all the things... I thought about trying that but thought it would probably be worse, didn't take into consideration how new it was.
