Default Skill Focus Feats: Allow as Class Skills

Choosing a skill focus feat for skills that are cross class should make that skill a class skill from the point the feat is taken.
Yes that would allow fighters to take heal or spellcraft for epic reasons, wizards pick locks, multiclass rogues a bit more lenient on point distribution as examples.

Fred lets people swap feats, so it would be abused.

Exceptions could be made and a warning issued that the feat is non transferable/cannot be exchanged or chosen as an exchange and its effects on skill point distribution take effect upon next level up.

It would be a waste to try to exchange the feat at later levels as skill points would already be distributed, for rogue skills like trap, lock you would no longer have the feat (making the investments made useless) and for anything else it would be just like a normal cross class expenditure halving all your investment.

The only "abuse" would be UMD at early levels. However that may be a good thing to allow especially for lower level/newer players who need a source of self healing.

No need to be all grinch when it comes to Heroic levels.

That said whether exchangeable or not is up for debate if it needs polish for it to work under guideline.

This idea is one that comes from a place where the player characters are more than their profession and have other interests/hobbies/talents/specializations apart from the stereotype of their class.

What do you mean wiry clerics can't jump?

I like it. I could see it from a role play perspective as well. A ranger may very well have learned to disable traps to thwart poachers.
A wizard may well have learned healing skills due to arcane experiments going awry.

How is it abuse if you have to pay for it? That is literally the deterrent.
