Has anyone noticed increased difficulty with this raid? Our group went in on normal difficulty and the initial Orthons crushed us in seconds.
I know our 29 gear was lowered, but this raid seems a lot harder than it was before.

Yes and I think I know the reason.
All the caster got 3 nerfs since this raid came out. And many people may not miss all the critical chance and spellpower but some forget that healers got nerfed also so it´s way harder to equip and to make it viable at endgame. Used to be easy to get 900 spellpower with the healer, these days reaching 600 positive spellpower is a great number.
These days the lorik set + green steel + extra life and mana sets from feywild makes the healer viable but will take some time to gather the items.
Also some healing items and the %increase in critical are not working properly (club from Peril of the Planar Eyes for example).
Without meld is even worse.
I do not think that is the reason. We just did LR1 Shroud last night and did not have any issues at all. I do agree that DCs to saves have not been properly adjusted, particularly those that focused on enchantment before. But to wipe on normal? My experience is damage from monster was not scaled back much if any. Losing meld probably has a lot more to do with it than heals.
There are many ways to heal. Before the damage, during the damage or after the damage. Group is shroud is a concentrated block so area heals will do the job. In VOD players are scattered. Meld was the skill that helped the healer even to stay alive while healing - with undying sentinel epic moment. Epic vod and other quests where created with meld in mind, now without it
many quests and also reaper above doom level are more complicated.
Take the first part of shroud for example: more people will be killed than part 3 and distance + walls are one of the reasons.
