Default What is the hay for ?

    Hello,

I have had hay in Saltmarsh loot when I was playing it with my level 2-3 character.

What is it for ? I couldn't find any crafting device yet.
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

Hay is the new 'altar in the 12' ingredient to increase the level of weapons. Each pack drops a different type, i.e., vault keys in Vault of Night.

I am not sure if that requires a flaky response or if I should keep rolling along...

The Hay is used to update the level 3 Saltmarsh items at the Altar of Epic Rituals to their Epic and Legendary versions.

Does the Hay stack? Or is that too loft-y an expectation?

    Surely you meant "bale"?

Thank you, but I still find it HUGELY irritating to have Legendary or Epic items - which the Hay basically is , because it can be used nowhere else - drop in level 3 quests !
Who needs that ? People who are new to the game won't. Because it's a very long way to level 20-30.

So, in my opinion, that Hay should be actually exclusive to the Epic/Legendarylevels of that Expansion.

The only other way would be to use that Hay at level 3 as a token to get the black Smuggler's Horse, similar to the Quaal Tokens. And that would even make sense.

I thought it offset the fact that epic level quests dropped level 3 gear, still. Level 3 gear dropping in epic levels is alien, though. More straw means more food for the gems, however, by upgrading the level 3 named items you don't want...

People spend far more time at levels 20-30 than they do at level 3. And if it bothers you that much, then don't loot it.

There's no need to be rude. Just because you can't *see* the person on the receiving end of your comments, that doesn't mean they won't be upset by your excessively blunt comments.

And for the record, not everyone is that focused on reaching Epic levels. I've been playing for at least 10 years and only have 2 Epic toons. No legends either. Some of us just play for fun.

Very nice. A year necro to have a go at someone speaking the truth. You have 2 epic toons, I am sure they will be in epic longer than you will have a toon at level 3.You don't have to loot the hay.
