Default CGame keeps minimizing on character screen

So new laptop... Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 7, NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3080, DirectX12
    blablabla..

    Downloaded and installed DDO

Launcher opens (altough very small), can put in Log in details, select server.
Game loads, but as soon as on the character select screen it minimizes to the taskbar (but stays running in the background).
After Opening the screen again it minimizes again after 1 second.
And the last above line i could repaet continuesly.
Couldnt even get to the setting to put the game on windowed mode.

    -Evrything is Updated and Upgraded
    -Tried 32 client.
    -Tried 64 client.
    -Tried High resolution data
    -Tried High resolution data off.
    -Tried putting off laptops Gamemode
    -Tried Unnistalling redownloading and reinstalling.
-Tried Malware scan (would be weird since laptop is new)
    -Tried Virus Full scan
    -Installed DirectX June2010 redistrubutables,
-Didnt need to change the Regedit either.
    -Disabled Windows Error Reporting Service
-Tried putting Firewall on and off in McAfee
-Couldnt find anny ''Do not Disturb'' Functions in McAfee
-Gamefast option from Killercontrol putt off.
-Windows Security seem to be taken over by McAfee so nothing to change there.

Nothing worked.. until after 7 hours i found something.

Incompabillity: Programm seemed to be the problem.
Compability change to windows 8 seemed to be the fix.

until the next day.. where i did try to start up again and the same problem occured AGAIN.
The compability check advised to try on windows 8, but this time didnt work.
(same minimize on character select screen)

So went to propertys.. compabillity and apperently ''start on windows 8'' was stil selected..
so unselected it... and DDO worked again..

    like ***...

    story continues...
Problem is stil not *sloved* but atleast *made it work* again.
    Wonder what wil happen tomorrow..

    i
I hope atleast so far that the options i tried maybe can help other people with finding their problems.

The Joy of loging in was short.
cause after 15 minits the servers went down.

Now a few hours later (with the servers back up again)
a new try... and geuss what?

    same problem.

Annyone the slightest idea what is wrong? and how to *perma* fix this so i dont have to go through all kinds of options every time?

Take a look at the user preferences file, you can find it here:

    Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\UserPreferences.ini

There is a [Display] section, try changing the screen mode: ScreenMode=Windowed

I see you turned off gamemode also try:
    Disable Action Center Notifications
The Social Media or any other quick action notifications that you receive on your PC can all be found in the Action Center in Windows 10.

These notifications can be displayed over your game or can be the reason for the game keeps minimizing in Windows 10.

There is a setting in the action center named Focus Assist which when set up properly will snooze notifications when you are using the full-screen mode.

To go to Focus Assist settings follow these simple steps:

Go to Settings from Windows Menu.
    Then go to System.
    Go to the Focus Assist.

I had this issue after a recent Windows update, unfortunately the only thing that fixed it was uninstalling the update!

Try ScreenMode=FullScreenWindowed and see if that works okay for you.
