Any synergy between Saltmarsh and new Bow tree?

A more direct question: is there anything in the Saltmarsh quests that would recommend rolling up an archer and using the new bow tree?

You mean gear-wise, or the quests themselves?

I dont think you'd want to build a character specifically just for one quest pack. And I dont think that gear is ever going to help overcome the issues that HW had on Lama...I think its going to be the ranged equivalent of a TWF Assassin, role-wise; namely, a single-target raid DPS specialist - though I doubt it will be as effective in that role.
