When is the Character Transfer Deadline?

Hi,

I've been looking everywhere for the hardcore character transfer deadline and I can't find it, including in the FAQ here. I want to make sure I don't miss it.

Ah, that sucks. I figured there might be an announcement somewhere, not have to find the info buried in a post deep in the forums. Oh well.

I was waiting for notice of hardcore transfers on log in screen where they had a message for it in the past I dont read forums all the time so I missed the deadline, after all the time and effort and cash I spent on hardcore not to be able to transfer the characters because the transfer notice was not released in a format that made it obvious that it was open to do, You guys need to give people a chance to do it, I actually logged on forums today for the first time in a few weeks searching to see why no notice had gone up on log in screen like it had in the past just to find out its finished, If I cant salvage the tunes I made for it, I will not me investing my time or money in future Hardcores, and some of the in game friends had the same thing happen and are saying the same thing. I feel like an idiot for the funds and time i wasted on Hardcore and have learned my lesson.

Hopefully you can resolve this in a positive manner.

You knew when the event was ending, you knew the event was over, you knew (from past experience) that the "party" ends a couple weeks after that... and so you did nothing during that time?...

And who's fault is that?

If I cant salvage the tunes I made for it, I will not me investing my time or money in future Hardcores, and some of the in game friends had the same thing happen and are saying the same thing...

Look - sorry you lost your HC stuff, but this isn't "a day late and a dollar short" - it's most of a week late and you dropped the ball several times. HC ended 22 days ago, this is 100% predictable - take some responsibility for not taking any action during those weeks.

It’s a completely valid complaint that this information wasn’t advertised elsewhere. I also was expecting an announcement on the login screen, and I’d been logging in each week. Sure, I transferred the majority of my gear and characters, so I’m only out a couple gold rolls, but it really isn’t difficult to make these announcements in multiple places. Especially when it is your job. Lack of communication is an ongoing issue with this game, be it only announcing an update during a podcast, failure to mention these things in patch notes, etc. If you have multiple places you provide news and information you should be keeping all of those places updated.

It’s great that the devs are able to reply to posts from players, but that should not have been the only mention of when the Hardcore season was ending. Next time I’d like to see the start and stop dates of hardcore announced in a Dev’s post with an inclusion of when the season will end, the rewards, when transfers will start/stop, etc. (I expect to see “TBD” for some, just update them once you know), a mention in the patch notes of when the servers are coming down/transfers ending, and a mention the week leading up on the login screen.

I missed seven days due to moving and having internet transferred to the new apartment, and it seems in that week the servers closed and the transfer deadline expired. I've been logging in every day since I got access again, then finally just now I came to the forums to find this out. I spent quite a bit of time and money on my hardcore characters, and I guess now all that is wasted. DDO, I will not be putting anymore cash into your game.

That just sounds like bad planning on your part. Take some personal responsibility, you had several weeks to transfer your toons. I transferred my toons out of Hardcore on the first week of the afterparty, because I didn't want to risk some unexpected event preventing me from accessing my computer, and something like this happening.
