I had a thought while dabbling around Saltmarsh. Our last new Sentient Jewel was the Dragon, that is now more than a year old. Any thoughts, ideas, speculation for when we might see new Sentient Personalities?

Some I would like to see/hear:
Pirate (like Needle-nose Ned from Epic 3BC map narrator)
Balance of Nature (something appropriate to a druid that talks about nature, elements, neutrality, the balance)
Ecclesiastic (someone from the Silverflame or Sovereign Host like Celimas)
    Xoriat-esque (someone like Yaulthoon)
Whimsical, silly (like the psuedodragon Joy but hopefully a more pleasant sounding voice)
Seductive (like Malicia, but not necessarily her, preferably something that would go well with an Enchanter)

The pirate-like personality would have been a good fit for Saltmarsh but I'm sure its far too late. Last I heard we were supposed to get at least one Sentient Jewel a year... well I'm pretty sure its been more than a year so what gives?
Blood Scented Axe Body Spray (Thelanis)

My idea is for new gem stones - so a stone for each class - ranger, paladin, wizard, cleric - etc - and there are opportunities for some very interesting story:

The warlock gem is the remnant of an ancient warlock punished by a lower planes patron, trapped forever.
The cleric gem a silver flame priest killed by a lycanthrope during the Purge, and is paranoid lycanthropes are everywhere.
The Wizard gem is one of the wizards of the Twelve, who was trapped in the gem as the result of a failed experiment to fly to the moons of Eberron.
    etc etc.

It would be nice to have a gem for a Kalashtar, or a Changeling, or a Shifter - Eberron is such a rich setting, with great story; it is underutilized.

Forgotten Realms could be done as well, along with the Gatekeepers.
This is just spitballing - with time and purpose I could write up some very interesting stories.
Too bad SSG doesn't pay me to write for them.

    I agree.
But I fear that WOTC might have lost interest. Although ... there's a new book out there now.

White Plume Mountain has a Shanty Singer, the Wiki says.

Anyway, totally uninteresting for me, since I'll never get any Sentient Gems apart from the 3 I have now (I was lucky in Through The Mist, but the other gems don't fit to my taste, accordtoing to what I read at the Wiki, so I'm not going after them).

"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

    • Griffon

It's cool that you add these but what about much older missing and more common ones like Dogs! Spectres, Fire Reavers, Medusas, Fire Giants??? Vampires or Pit Fiend(as a pair to Horned Devil and also the last of the devils) would also be a nice option?
    But Wights! Finally!

That they did wights impresses me. That one was probably more work than all of the others on the list combined.

Propably. But there are so many Wights that they could have blindly chosen some thresholds for Hunter and Exterminator or copied from e.g. Hobgoblins. And other mobs from new MM are less so it's harder to count, especially rare ones like griffons, harpies, forgewraiths. They are only in few quests(compared to whole DDO) plus some on wildneresses. And the rarer ones are often easier to overlook/miss in counting. Though TBH I don't believe they count it at all. Like a "Ok, Give me the calculator. One in Quest A, 4 in Quest B, 3 in Wildneress D, 6 in Quest C.... that makes 14, ok! So let's give hunter to 12max and extermianator to 600". This would not result in an astronomical number - compared to occurrence - to kill Warforged Titans, and suspiciously small to Dragons
But still Wights is a good shot.
