Can we have Salttwisted items included in the Mini-Expansion?

One of the mechanics I really enjoy about Feywild is the chance to have a Feytwisted chest! I already enjoy doing wilderness zones, but seeing one for a Rare makes my day even better. Having one drop in a quest or the raid makes the whole experience more enjoyable even if I have all the items already. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement this mechanic in other content, but I would love to see it again.

Another possible names include:

• Marshmellowed Chests
• Saltsprinkled Chests
• Salt-&-Pepper Chests
• Marshymagic Chests

Any other opinions are welcome.

Well, chests can be feytwisted because of all the fairies flying around, and fey is known for Wild Magic, as is shown in the Shiradi Champion tree.

But Salt- twisted? Not so exciting, LOL? What's a say Salt Marsh drowned pirate assassin (aka Pirates of Carribean) do to a chest?
By the time he sees the chest, the contents are pilfered, not left for your and mine characters to see. The chest contents wouldn't be so exciting...

Depending upon what plane of existence the Salt Marsh is,

It is not Eberron - likely it will either be the Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk (though ddo does not officially label Greyhawk as a unique plane)

It is likely then that the undead pirates, etc could 'salt-encrust' a chest - though likely a good 'twist' (it is an extremely fun mechanic) would be for it to be influenced by either the deep sea or the negative material plane.

I would concur with itchy. In the feywild quests I do optional areas where there are chests for the slight chance they are feytwisted. In Sharn and Ravenloft (and any other content) I ignore optional chests that do not drop named loot. The fey twisted mechanic provides a solid reason to go out of ones way and not just take the fastest path to completion. If creating new loot is too much work, I would be happy with standard named loot in the salty chests.

Lets be honest, it's called mini expansion cause devs are not even pretending it's high value addition with a lot of content, but just a money grab. You're asking for too much, lets be happy that it's more than 5 quests. :P

I totally vibe with this idea. New expansions of all types come with bonus/rare/alternate loot.


I was a fan of how Killing Time added /alternate universe/ versions of well-known weapons, like an Adamantine Qstaff similar to the SoS or a Bow like the Chaosblade.

As for the chest name... I'm for Salt Encrusted as well, but if they center the pack on the Devourer... who represents the harshness/brutality of Nature...

Can you ask if the HCL server after event party can be extend until about 2 weeks prior
to the next HCL

just basically leave it on
we promise not to burn the place down or break it.
I am pretty sure it will not be a burden, the players
that would stay there are not the players other servers
need for raids ... most are loners (solo folks)
or perma-death-ers

If yes, can we add caster/ranged weapons/items too please? Not just melee please.

Cool. Will you make them (and Feytwisted) loot available with "the Other Loot Guy" in the dojo? Its silly that we need to transfer characters to Lammaland just to equip Feytwisted loot.
