Default When picky people post lfms but can't even be bothered to reply

Isn't it basic politeness to at least reply to folks requesting to join an lfm? Guilds doing this kind of little stuff makes a big impact on the whole server.

    That's often not the case.

Often, someone will post an LFM and go AFK for a while, or get distracted while web surfing vids and not hear the *ding*. Or they'll be in the middle of a big combat and simply not be able to hear it over the battle noise/etc., and then too many posts/game messages have gone by so they can't see it in the tiny /chat box.

There are legit reasons why people don't respond - sometimes.

I agree that folks on requesting side of this situation should give some benefit of the doubt about the reasons why when ignoring occurs. In this case, I sent a second request and was watching the lfm fill so it was not an AFK situation this time.

Going AFK and ignoring people was not the issue I was thinking of but that is poor form also. Good news is there is a join request window that completely solves that problem if you check it once in a while.

I know some guilds on Khyber are non-English language based, so there's some people I run with that we don't talk much as a result. Language can always be a barrier with some parties and it effects if someone responds to a message or not.

You can also send a /tell directly to the party leader. I might do this if an LFM goes unanswered after a minute or so.

(It might require that you go to the "Who" tab and wait until that populates fully (i.e. until the "Search" button highlights), then back to "Groups" to use the "/tell" function there.)

It's true that people often have reasons, including language barriers, to appear inconsiderate online. It's kind of a double edged sword. As someone on the receiving end of said behavior you have to give the benefit of the doubt. On the other side, people who are truly inconsiderate have the perfect place to hide on the internet and they know it and take full advantage of it.

"Language barrier" is not a reason to refuse to push the "Decline" button. If you don't want someone, decline them. It's not hard. Leaving them hanging for extended periods is just rude. I would much rather be declined than have my time wasted.

    Goods points OP!

Thing is DDO has the GREATEST LFM system in this genre -- and so few people realize it. Its just not used much anymore but WE ALL NEED to support this LFM system because when people actually USE IT, its the best thing going since...
