State of Lag - official statement possible?

Lag is back to where it was pre- that fix they tested and implemented about a month or so ago. You cant get on ship, you cant get into quests, stuck on load screens, running in place, going from full health to dead because server is lagged out. It is really unbearable at this point. I thought maybe my internet service is acting weird but its not. I get 200 M download speeds.. I even got something yesterday i havent seen in a while, the latency icon turned yellow on me for like a moment... been years since i seen that. Not sure what is going on , but please fix it.

I suspect it had something to do with the Cove. According to server population stats there was a spike of players on last night, the LFG panel was barren, and there was a ton of lag. I got kicked off Khyber and got a Khyber is down message when trying to log back in. Since last night was the last night of Cove, that seems to be a likely culprit.

I also want to add, it came to my attention but may or may not be related just coincidental, but when i was in my Zoom college class today, i was playing DDO, and when our group lagged ( running in place , stuck to ground etc ) my professor said he was having issues with his internet , he got some kind of weird latency issue. Only for a few moments. Even myself I havent had my latency icon turn yellow for years, and it has been doing it sporadically the past week. Could it not be the game, but instead some kind of weird internet issue itself?

the route your data packets take vary based on your physical location relative to the data centers. i remember a specific instance back when i was working tech support in 2010 or so. A co-worker of mine, who would play another well known MMO while at work after the bosses left, kept having problems getting into US West, but could get in US East just fine. We traced the issue down to a specific busted switch at a specific ISP that was 6 or 7 hops deep in the route, and called them up to get them to fix it.

Maybe the Dev's are responding with their work computers and are experiencing Lag?

As far as the lag is concerned, for me, right after they did their lag reduction thing, it seemed much better. But after 2 or 3 days it pretty much went back to the way it was before the "lag fix". A couple days ago it was horrible in the afternoon for me (EST). I still get lag, rubberbanding and occasionally not being able to move into new areas or porting lag etc. IMHO the lag is always worse when more people are online, especially the weekends. Its just strange that some people can have terrible lag and other people on the same server say they arent experiencing any at all. I have to admit that I really dont like most of the proposed coming changes to the game, but what I really fear the most is that the lag will get even worse after the changes are implemented. It seems to me that every time they change the code, or do an expansion etc., the lag gets worse.

It is not easy to measure this from the players side and give effective feedback. The only measurement I have is playability of the game:

on movement
- no lag
- small stutters
- short freezes and rubberbanding
- long freezes and rubberbanding
- not able to move at all
- stuck in loading screen
- not even able to log on

on communication
- be able to chat
- be able to send and receive tells
- be able to join/apply/create/accept lfms

for a very long time and I am talking month if not years the playability was never free of any lag.

My system should be able to handle DDO since I am able to play other multiplayer games that need more resources and a stationed in the US, too without any problems.

The lag was caused by their own by bad coding and poor decision making.
Its being perpetuated by shoddy management.

It truly has become the epitome of 'how not to run an mmorpg' unless you are okay with burning bridges to make a buck.

Edit: Forget combat, cant even do a bank transfer without lagging and getting the "wait couple of decades before interacting with inventory". Ghallanda is awful, fcking awful.
