    Default Quest Arc Completion Rewards

Is there a list of chains that offer named items every three completions of the quest arc? /quest completions is completely useless any more, and with all the new quests added since I left, it's impossible to tell where this pattern exists.

Also, do devs have an explanation for why this isn't standard across quest chains? (Besides the fact that, like flagging for quest chains and bound status of gear, different people have made different decisions over the years and no one's had the time to reconcile them)

I don't know of a list, but I'm pretty sure epic necropolis (update 23) was the last chain that had named loot in the end reward list. So anything released after that won't.

I believe the reasoning was something to the effect of not wanting people to zerg through the chain on normal to get named loot instead of running higher difficulties.

Personally I feel like the addition of mythic and reaper bonuses is enough incentive for people to keep trying to run quests on higher difficulty. If it's not, then increase those bonuses, or add something else like that to incentivize running quests on higher difficulty for gear.

It was explained to me, probably in a Lamannia thread but I would have a devil of a time looking for it, that the reason they are phasing out chain end rewards and will never again have the 3x through chain for list with everything is that they want to reward difficulty and the players "challenging themselves" and if they continued to place named items on chain end rewards "in their opinion" players would just run through on the easiest difficulty to get what they want. Its a time and risk versus reward issue.

Although, I must say IMHO, they are not taking into account Favor, XP per time, Reaper XP, nor Mythic or Reaper bonuses both of which require running higher difficulties for better chances. All of which is to say higher difficulties are rewarded already and rewarded exponentially above the easy difficulties thus I think this theory is bupkis.

What removing chain end rewards does do and do effectively is encourage people with limited time and loot frustration spend some astral shards on chest rerolls.

Default Why not to extend the raid runes approach to the quests?

At the end the DDO team did a great work with the raid runes.
When you have collected enough runes, you can get the rewarded named item you want.
Why not to extend the same approach also to the single quests or to the quest arcs?
It would be easy enough and fair for the game.

I'm honest, I've been playing this game for the last one year and half (I'm essentially a D&D paper and pen gamer, I've been doing it for 31 years, so I've discovered DDO very late...), and I love it!
But the named items rewarded inside the quests is very frustrating.
I've run, mainly in solo mode, some story arcs 5-6 times (first time EN, then the other times EH) and I never got the items I was looking for and that it was good for my character.
E.g.: I've run the Trial of Archons story arc 6 times (1x EN, 5 EH) and in 21 quests I got 1 named item, for sure not the any one I was looking for.
I find it terribly boring: why should I repeat the same quests 6 times with no suitable rewards? Even paying the same quest several times the rewarded items lose their value...

Rune mechanism would improve the rewarding systems a lot: you know that you have to run the same quest maybe 5-6-10 times, but at the end you know that you can get what you want.
Treasure finding potions or other items can still work, maybe increasing the runes rate.
The approach could be kept at the quest level or to the story arc level, both would be a good improvement.

I don't know what do you think about this proposal, please, let me know or make it even better!

    Regards,
    Funas.

Not sure if idea is good or bad but I have had better luck than you. When I really want an item I run that specific quest multiple times, use a treasure hunter pot, do it on Elite, and try to get a group to increase. Try posting a LFM mentioning the item you want and use a pot.

Thank you for the suggestions, Doctor!
Working in Solo is not easy, even because if the character is not so strong, Elite difficulty is quite impossible...
I don't like to much to use treasure hunter potions since it seems to me like 'pay to win' approach, but this is what is expected by the game builders.
Grouping could help a lot: I see a lot of people spending time helping less experienced or weaker heroes, and I really appreciate this mind-set.
