Default Looking for Unkillable Tank build

    Hello everyone!

So, I have finally hit end-game, but I have decided that my current toon is too much of a mix between dps/tank so I cannot do either effectively. I was wondering what "super" tank builds are out there? I am looking for something with AC:~400, 400+ PRR, and as much hp as possible.

While I would prefer this build be iconic (so I can get back to epic levels ASAP), I am open to any/all builds so long as they have proven to work. Also, bonus points if they can swap gear or something to do a little soloing.

So far, my research has revelated possible FVS splits (12 FVS/4 ftr/ 4 pally), Pally splits (12 pally/ 8 ftr), and I have even seen some warlocks be super tanky. I am looking for a detailed guide (enhancement breakdowns, level breakdowns etc.).

Thank you all for your help!

    Congrats on getting to endgame

Depending what difficulty you like to run, I think a pure Paladin (Bladeforged iconic potentially) can make for a solid tank. I had a look and wasn't able to find a clear writeup for a pure pally tank, let me know if this interests you.

As far as "Super" tank builds...

This is a PDK 12 Paladin/4 Fighter/4 Artificer focused on AC:

Here are 2 Warlock Tank builds:
Voodu's writeup (and video series) offers quite a detailed guide and layout for how the build can be played.

This build is more in the experimental stage but I think has a strong basis of defenses + self-healing.

    Looking for Unkillable Tank build
    Undead.

    Why ?

    He/she is already dead !
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

These all look excellent! Thank you. The PDK looks rather intriguing. I will definitely miss my ability to solo EE for easy xp, but this is exactly what I was looking for.

Wasn't there a solid Barb/Druid/X tank build going around for a while? (Not a "tank guy", not 100% sure.)

Not sure how much you dug through that thread (it is fairly long) but the author does mention the option of grabbing fighting style feats instead of 4 of the toughness feats. That would cost you 128 hp, times whatever multiplicative hp boosts you have but you would gain the option of using Epic Defensive Fighting instead of the Paladin stance for +5% hp.

If it were me and I was running lower difficulty content (mid reaper questing/LN-R1 raiding) I would take the THF line so I could run some more DPS than a dedicated tank build.

There was Gilga's Bear tank build 18 Druid/2 Barb (now 2 Warlock).

As well as other splits/builds I'm sure.

I'm currently interested in trying a 12 Cleric/8 Druid bear build for the +10% hp sacred bonus from Warpriest w/ some decent self heals.

But I think bear tanks in general are in a solid spot currently.

I did see that. I feel like those defenses are high enough to afford losing a bit of HP and taking EDF.+THF stuff. Would the character still not be able to tank high reaper with those changes.

PainStealer had the THF line in their earlier CHA version of the Steelmaiden, but the THF line was later dropped because it did not give much of a difference to the low DPS. To put it back in would likely be a mistake.

Also, after the latest posted version of the Steelmaiden, the Shield Mastery line has since expanded to include Greater Shield Mastery and Perfect Shield Mastery. For a tank, these should be taken more for their defensive contribution than merely offensive. Shield Mastery is also now considered a combat style under Epic Defensive Fighting, so they would together contribute toward the maximum %25 HP increase granted by EDF.

The EDF and Sacred Defender Stance can be on simultaneously. However, the HP bonus from EDF does not stack with Tenacious D. Instead of Tenacious D, Hardy D can be taken.
