The Borderlands - why so far away!

Have you ever noticed how much travel is required to get to the Borderlands? Why are they so far away from the Stormreach Marketplace? And the city of Sharn?

The Borderlands should definitely be given a centralized location.

The Borderlands actually are from Greyhawk and the rest of the places you mentioned are in Eberron. Different planes/realms of existence.

Its cool that DDO let us teleport between those realms, Eberron to Greyhawk to Ravenloft to Forgotten Realms. If we have a real DM this might not be possible. Oh, you want to play in Forgotten realms as well as in Greyhawk and Eberron. Forget it, re-roll and start from level 1. Oh, no loot sharing or shared stash.

Mystara, not Greyhawk. The Keep was given an official location in Mystara (and designed to be run with Basic), but only suggestions for possible locations in Greyhawk.
