    Default Advanced Undead Tank

    I have a Pal/FvS tank now that is pretty good but in PN I am running into intercession issues on Reaper. I am also running into issues in Dryad and the Demigod with stripping my death ward then energy draining me on Reaper.

    So I started thinking of a undead build to solve those issues. At first I thought of warforged or bladeforged but the reconstruct you get from the racial tree would be stopped by intercession and they would still take negative damage from D&D. Undead seems a better route.

    This is my first attempt at a undead tank so any and all input is welcome.

    *Consider 12 Pally, 4 Fighter, 4 Arty.
    *Put 23 ap's into KOTC for Sealed Life (Fourth Core) & Vigor of Life.
    *Put 40 ap's into Sacred Defender for everything, esp. 5th Tier.
    *Put 13 ap's into RMM for Reinforced Armor.
    *Put 15 ap's into Dwarf (per your plan).
    *Take Shield Mastery Line of Feats.
    *Take Other Feats: Shield Deflection, Toughness, Epic Toughness, Deific Warding, Epic Damage Reduction, Bulwark of Defense.

    Consider PDK for healing amp, take Force of Personality, dump wisdom and make CHA secondary stat to CON for will saves, divine grace, LOH, hit/dmg via Cormyrian Weaponry (to draw agro), intimidation, and umd.
    Also, consider Tiefling for Ferocious Rebuke.

    I am not sure how this solves the intercession and energy drain issues that I made this build for? It is already a FvS/Pal build and tanks everything just fine but these two raids on reaper

    sorry, Sealed Life does solve the energy drain but it costs at least 21 action points and I lose my SLA heals from FvS and I still have the intercession issue and lose self heals

    The Curative Admixture Spells are not affected by intercession afaik, so maybe 15 Arty - 5 Pally (per Tilomere) or 12 Arty - 4 Pally - 4 Fighter.

    For 12 Arty - 4 Pally - 4 Fighter, go Bladeforged w/ Healer's Friend.

    There are some interesting healer builds out there that use curative admixtures. . . .

    I was thinking you could refrain from going as a construct in order to fully benefit from the curative admixture spells, but that would be a big mistake considering all of the other quests that you could use the beneftis of RMM, Reconstruction and Repair spells, and Reconstruct SLA.

    • I had a pure pally tank that I loved but the lack of self heals made it pretty one dimensional. Great AC/Saves/HP etc etc
    • I remade him as a Pal/Fvs to keep most of the AC/Saves/HP but add in a TON of SLA heals and healing wall etc to allow me to self heal tank R1 KT and other raids with ease.
    • Now that we are moving up to R1 PN and D&D I wanted to add intercession ward and energy drain for them so was thinking robot or undead.


    Your input on artie healing is interesting, I will put it in the builder to see what it looks like. At first thought it seems that it would be light on the heals (and the other benefits you get from the heal spell) but it may work.

    If you haven't considered it yet, the 4 piece Radiant Shield filigree provides Intercession immunity. Also 4 piece Purity gives energy drain immunity but that's prob not worth it.

    Other ideas for neg drain: 21 AP into Vistani gives neg drain immunity, robots. Also, I'm not sure if KotC T4 is a self buff or if it adds to aura. If the latter, a solution to energy drain is ask for a KotC of your party to stay around.

    First, wanna say the monk level is kinda funny. Looks like it's just to net a free feat because there's nothing better to do with that level?

    Gearwise: be cautious with Legendary Cloak of Winter, I don't know whether its lifesealed will reduce your healing from neg energy (though not immediately sure where to fit false life otherwise). Trinket is primarily for Q cha and greater heroism? Would suggest using the Icon of the Bitterwind from dryad raid instead with superior heroism, winter set, and exceptional cha skills (don't see exc cha skills on any of your other gear, so net +10-11 intim if your cha is odd/even without that Q cha).

    Eloquence hat seems unnecessary, could put good luck 2 aug in something and just lose 1 there and Icon of the Bitterwind gives 22 intim. In case you ever do anything with pally or fvs for cha trance I recommend slotting festive cha in the cha goggles lol.

    Sapphire of defense in necklace is unnecessary as you have mrr on bracers and prr on armor.

    Missing artifact mrr, current bracers seem to just be giving mrr and +1 ins sheltering over direbear belt so I'm looking for other possible places to put mrr. Gloves have summer set so could find one more summer item to slot if you want artifact bonus to mrr.

    I am a bit skeptical of self heals without negative spellpower, is your pally/fvs running no pos spellpower? Asking cuz if so, maybe this would work without. Could try to slot spellpower aug at least. Repair aug in bracers is unnecessary now that you're not doing robot, instead of cha on Topaz Ring put wis so you have more wis than that aug in goggles (and once again, put the festive cha in goggles for the sake of anyone who you link the gear to in chat or something lol). Also bc the cha on them is redundant with goggles.

    Greater heroism aug in gloves isn't needed, in case you have other augs you want to slot (have it on trinket whether using battleworn medal or bitterwind icon).

    An alternative idea for bracers is Legendary Black Opal from WPM which have mrr 50 (lose 5 compared with tattered scrolls, and another 1 mrr and prr from ins sheltering for total 6 lost mrr and 1 prr but if use summer set then gain 25 back for net -1 prr and +19 mrr) and have will save 16 (+6 compared with sapphire of resistance 10 in trinket).

    Based on things I mentioned above, options for where to slot a 2nd summer item if u want to do that are Titania's Glory (sadly the hamp doesn't help u as undead, so it just gives summer set and ig good dr bypass lol) or Leg. Cloak of Summer (guess mainly useful things are fire absorb and summer set, tho str is good for carrying capacity + hitting things more often for more hate gen).

    I might even suggest using a different weapon for spellpower for heals, though you'd likely lose a good chunk of hate gen via dps if you are trying to do that and idk if you're responsible for stacking vuln on bosses in the party. The loss of freezing ice isn't as bad if the goal is raiding, since you're probably rarely hitting trash much. Strahd raid sickle gives good things for it and even better is malleable sceptre from the new quest line.



    Sorry if this is hard to read bc of how disorganized it is, just mentioning things as I see them :P

    Should have a weapon with purity filligree set for DnD reaper, immunity to energy drain. Can also use a 4 pc radiant shield set weapon for intercession.

    Another undead tank option for dryad and the demigod that doesn't require being undead all the time that my guildy came up with and uses with great success on this 20 paladin:

    1) Equip two pieces of greensteel and die
    2) Have someone raise you with animate ally clicky

    The advantage of being undead is beyond not being neg leveled., it's the benefit of getting healed by the unicorns.
